Zalal is Topurias most underrated win. He took that fight on very short notice too IIRC

He could’ve finished if he just stuck to GnP and stopped forcing those unnecessary brabo choke attempts from what I remember. Made a lot of mistakes, but his fight IQ has grown exponentially since then.


Regardless wasn’t really competitive which is very impressive from a late notice Topuria

Zalal looked improved in imposing some flashy skills. Billy Q is a monster at forcing his type of fights and it felt like he was out smarted at every turn.

Has Zalal improved his fundamentals enough to regain the hype he originally had or will he still feel flat against the next man who has the offence to pressure him more effectively? I'm thinking and hoping this is a sign of things to come.

more fighters need to throw standing knees. fighters these days are practically begging to eat a knee. it's the best counter to a TD spammer as well.

Body shots and uppercuts have a similar function and don't leave you standing on one leg. Don't get me wrong, intercept knees are fun af... but there's a bit of jumping guillotine in there.
