Will Max Holloway take one of the biggest beatings ever seen in this octagon?

I think if Justin can't connect clean within the first two rounds, he's going to be in serious trouble and Max will tool him the entire fight.

But if he lands clean on Max even once I don't think Max will be able to last the fight. I'm not saying he'll be put down with one punch, I mean it will hurt him bad and then Justin will just wallop him until the ref just steps in for a TKO

If Max was as pessimistic as a lot of people in SD. He never would have become a UFC champion, to begin with. This isn’t some totally insane fight that Max can’t win.

He’ll have to have a near perfect fight. But he can win this fight. It would be awesome if he pulled it off. I’m definitely cheering for him.

I think Gaethje likely puts a hurting on him, but I won't completely count Max out.

His hands are sharp, and Gaethje can be chinny at times.

People sleeping on Max's gameplanning and ability to adapt.
He's really not that hittable either, when you look at the stats or when watching him I've never felt like he gets hit hard and uses his chin as often as people make out. He just gets into a lot of exchanges so gets hit a lot, but his defence % is very high. Against Arnold Allen he showed he can stay safe against a powerful striker by getting into fewer exchanges. I think he'll try similar against Gaethje, unless Justin can force the fight like Allen did in the 5th round, but Max has the power and head movement to handle himself (like we saw against TKZ and Allen) and it'll be difficult to keep that pace up and if you blow your wad early against Max he won't let your recover.

Max has trained for leg kicks many camps and improved after fighting Volk.

I don't think it will be a standard BMF fight, yeh. Max vs TKZ was more like that, but here my guess is Max will try to play it safer and pick his shots and wait for Justin to be hurt or tired before trying to pour on the BMF offense.

I'm biased asf though. I stopped putting money on my favourite fighters for a reason.

Max has a much better chance than people think. I think people do the MMAth of Dustin-Max and Gaethje-Dustin and conclude that Max has no chance. But Max matches up much better against Gaethje than he did against Dustin.

With the possible exception of a big shot finishing things early, this will be a competitive fight. Don't be surprised if Max starts to box Gaethje up in the later rounds. Even if Max loses, he'll have his moments in this one.

Max is huge for 145ers. Vs guys his size he will lose badly. DP owned him. His skill is there. He got more hurt then almost anyone. But that narrow back and short arms. He doesn't hut hard. He's screwed at LW. I don't think Justin will gass out bad. He got a chance but I personally give him 5%.

lol why are people acting like Max is some jobber?
He's not, it's just that this is a terrible matchup for him. Justin is larger, hits harder, has heart, and kicks like a mule on cocaine. Terrible fight for Max. It's possible he wins and makes us all look silly but barring Justin being very injured and/or not taking Max seriously, that seems very unlikely.

100%, his chin is getting cracked... <WhatItIs>

3-Win or lose
Max is going to drag this fucking guy to hell and back

I'm not sure how this fight plays out other than that I find it very likely Max gets destroyed. I go Option 3, I think Gathje beats him up with harder shots and low kicks until Max is to beat up to mount anything, leading to Justin knocking him down and TKO'ing him. Max leaves the octagon bloody and battered with a limp to boot.

I think Max will land on Justin in round 1, maybe a little in round 2 before Justin demolishes him. The damage will have already accumulated over the course of round 1. Justin with a 3rd round TKO.

Now I haven't seen this fight in a longtime so maybe I'm wrong...but when I think of beatings one of the 1st that come to mind is BJ Penn v Joe Daddy

don't think its gonna be the bloodbath that everybody is dreaming of but i could be very wrong

If Justin doesn't KO him inside 2 then Max Holloway is going to have a chance, likely a decision.

Depends what version of Gaethje we get, he's been looking for calculated lately but he takes a lot of risks. He is visibly slower by the end of Rd 2.

Max's greatest strength is his cardio.

I'm in doubt whether:

1- Max will fall quickly due to Gaethje's strong low kicks

or

2- Max will be the victim of another demolition masterpiece similar to what happened to Tony.

or

3- Another (specify)

In your opinions, 1, 2, or 3?

---------------------
Personally, I don't think this fight will be a standard BMF bout. Max isn't at that level and he doesn't have the level of brutality necessary for this lightweight match.
His T-Rex style will be useless against the Highlight.

It's not a matter of if Max will fall, but when and how his destruction will be - Total mismatch!!

Another issue will be the degree of damage that Max will show after this epic beating.

The last one (Tony) didn't fare too well...

Beating! Beating! a lot of pain for Max is coming!
he better fall limping soon, it'll be better.

Wild card prediction. Max will win a controversial split decision.

Holloway is going to shock you shertards. Fuckers don't know shit about fighting. "OH but Gaetche hits so hard and Holloway hits soft!"

Uh huh... and? If that meant so much Holloway would have been KOd multiple times and Justin wouldn't have been KOd multiple times.

I'd put money on Max if the odds were better. Max has never even been knocked down, and Gaethje has been KO'd by Eddie Alvarez and dropped by Oliviera. He's also going to be 36 this year, which is about when the lighter weight guys start to lose a step. Fight seems about 50/50. 60/40 wouldn't be crazy, but it's Max landing more, and Gaethje hitting harder but also not having as good of a chin.
