they're good looking people in every time period except famines and stuff. most of this comes down to style/fashion preferences.

What shithole do you live in where plastic surgery is the norm? Literally none of my family members or close friends ever had any.
its not the norm, i doubt even in LA where people can be extra shallow. OP is basing reality off their tiktok feed

he reads stuff online and thinks that's how it is

Middle aged people can look better on account of taking way better care of ourselves (if we choose to) than previous generations. Otherwise, not really.

Timeframes, locations and subjective standards make this impossible to get to the bottom of imo.

I keep reading that modern men are becoming sterile

seems like age doesn't hit nearly as hard but the older generations presented themselves for events and photos in a much more elegant fashion, and they weren't nearly as flabby as we are so the men would generally have more angular faces which is a good look for a man.

Female celebrities were certainly hotter back in the day, but only because that back when body-shaming was okay, and girls that look like dudes wasn't a virtue.

BUT, one only needs to fire up instagram to see that the hotties still exist, they just don't win academy awards anymore.

Changed my vote to no.

There are better looking people now than ever imo, and the intermingling of society has lead to many many beautiful mixes with attributes from different regions...

But...

There are so many fatties.
That was never the case before.

And a lot of false advertising.
Makeup and wigs.
Plastic surgery makes people look worse most of the time in my opinion and there is something UGLY beyond skin deep about the vanity that plastic surgery highlights and cultivates.

a lot of people in the younger generations have gone way overboard with the tattoos.
I love art and expression, but stop writing on your fucking faces ya weirdos.

So yeah. Overall, I think that we are going in the wrong direction and we are becoming unhealthy as a species.

Biologically, how would that come about. More money, so women choose attractive men more than brute men? If anything, surgeries and cosmetics are probably better.

The best looking ones before were better than the best looking ones of the current generation, but I can't say if the average person is any better looking now.
Whenever I see newsreel type footage of people in the 50's to mid-70's though, that was maybe when the average person was both in better shape and had the better average face.

More and more fat people... No... We get uglier as time goes... the food, radiation, toxins etc... and we will get even uglier... honestly as it seems the time of abominable look is coming.

Filters and plastic surgery. Peel the layers back and people look like shit tbh. Overweight and unnatural looking. The small percentage who maintain a proper diet and exercise routine while not submitting to drugs and alcohol look much, much better. Paired with advanced supplements and reduced stress, but thats certainly just a handfull.

The hottest people are hotter but there's more addicts, homeless and obese people than ever before and it's getting worse.
