Shane Carwin was an engineer
He is at least very ignorant.
Yeah, good money doing things in the real world.
@Ogata I would hate to do many of the jobs you listed, but I don't hate on them - you get the idea?
I guess he should be a paint salesman then?
*you'reYour the retard who is getting emotional. I just explained why but you dont want to lesson at all. I explained that its not a demeaning job but for an MMA fighter its unhealthy since they need to recover from grueling training camp.
But of course its easier to name call because posting in MMA forum makes you feel badass or whatever. Good for you.
I literally posted that before your idiot ass even made your idiot excuse.Your the retard who is getting emotional. I just explained why but you dont want to lesson at all. You can make great money and benefits working construction. Also, why do so many of you focus so much on fighter salaries??? These aren’t your kids for crying out loud. Worry about yourself.

BTW, I am out
catch u later.

The fool is you for not realizing that he should be using the money to learn a skill and not just do fucking construction. How about learn mechanics or some skilled labor. That and even if he is mid, he should have enough money to NOT do fucking construction.
If not skilled labor, he could learn, marketing, advertising, SEO, PPC or buying and selling data. HUH!!?
There's nothing wrong with construction. I made six figures a month running my own construction company.
I said I am out but am posting this from the jon before I go lolI respect that and its a great path and its extremely tough. My thing is that a career MMA fighter should do something more relaxing for nervous system recovery. I am not saying its demeaning job. Its just taxing on the nervous system and slows down recovery and healing time from injuries from training camp.
That is all I was saying.
Maybe you should have thought about posting such an idiotic thread about a fighter that just wants to have a good job to fall back on if you didn't want other sherdog members to shit on your idiotic thread. You should just crawl under a rock if i am being honest. If you keep this up, you are going to get your comeuppance.Look, if you have to resort to this type of language, good for you if it makes you feel superior. I mentioned my reason and if you want to deviate from my rebuttal that is fine but whatever this was not about you. My comment was contextualized in regards to a career MMA fighter. I am kind of amazed you had to inject yourself in to the thread as the main character.

‘Motion is lotion’
Sitting at a desk is fucking terrible for your body.
It says whilst not training. My guess is he works full time and trains like a dedicated hobbyist and then takes some time off when he goes into a proper camp. It's a regular income subsidized by his fighting. He was a wrestler, he is used to hard work and probably enjoys it. UFC fighters fight 3x a year at best, with 6-12 week camps. Even if he just takes the last 4 weeks off in camp he still gets 9 months a year he could work. More fighters should do it to be honest until they win the belt.I noticed Cody Durden wiki and I was reading how when he is not training for a fight, he is working as a construction worker:

I don't get it, how is this even possible!
He is a UFC fighter with a relatively decent record in modern times and he still has to work a day job and in construction which depletes your energy all day!
I thought fighters with his record at least make 60 to 100 k a year no?
Is the pay crap or is the cost of living that is out of hand?
EDIT:
I am not demeaning construction work in terms of a persons value. I am saying its tough on the human body and for a career MMA fighter, its best to have an occupation on the side that is easier on the nervous system since these guys injured like crazy since MMA is a tough grueling sport and so is construction.

What's blue and smells like red paint?I guess he should be a paint salesman then?
Sean O'Malleys previous opponent? What's blue and smells like red paint?
Blue Paint!
I train 10-12 sessions as a shift worker with a young family each week. Not the same level as a pro MMA fighter and I do more strength and conditioning work these days than skills sessions, after it being the opposite way last year, but it's doable when you cut out all other crap. Main thing is cutting out things that hurt recovery like drinking, crap food and drama. My time at work is the easiest part of my day provided I get my food in whilst I am there. If it works him its great. I suppose some fighters do better if they have a stable job. It might be a mindset in terms of having MMA as the most important thing might mess with their head.
