Didn't know that about hoops, but I just don't think Browne has really shown any significant athleticism in the cage. Very lumbering, very herky jerky in basically all of his fights. But really all Browne needs is the clinch, and hes more than likely either gonna hurt Mits there or drag him to the ground. Matt HAS to use his footwork and straight punches effectively to win this fight

This is why I love this section. Was feeling more confident in Mits when I was thinking to myself, but now discussing this i'm back down to earth where a +130 ML isn't worth a significant play when I realize Mits doesn't have many different paths to victory lol

Yeah this thread is awesome. Honestly, (at the risk of sounding like a broken record), I think "general toughness" can't be overstated at HW. These guys just always tend to land something big at some point. It's so hard for me to back a guy that's shown he'll fold at the first sign of adversity at HW even when he has a lot of other stuff going for him. Esp when he's fighting a guy who's shown he won't fold and has come back and won after getting hurt. Maybe Matt proves me wrong, but I need to see it first.

Another fight i've been thinking about, and while i'm already on the over i'm thinking of going harder on it. I don't see this getting finished by anything other than an Elvis KO which is at a line OK enough to hedge with.
Bet365 has 1.90 (-110) for the fight to go to decision, might take that.

hmm i think all those outcomes are just as likely as him getting a KO Connell is a tough sob

Man Latifi just hits like a tank though. He has that power that can only be described as "crazy stupid power".

5d offers it at -120 and literally the only thing scaring me is this being big guys and Elvis' short notice. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I see no fucking chance boring Bumroso finishes this, and Elvis won't win by sub. His KO line has dropped to +280, but fuck it I gotta go harder on fight goes the distance and hedge with that. I can't pass it up when I literally only see one reasonable path to the fight ending itd

I'd definitely agree. In the whacky world of HW MMA durability goes a looong way.

Props I'm on that I really like
Brown U1.5 -185
Cote decision +250
Felder O1.5 -200
Not saunders ITD -268
Wade -3.5 -165

Like all of them.

Not Killa B inside distance+Wade -3.5+Felder/Cruik starts rd 2 pays +195.

Latifi vs O'Connell question:

I haven't seen a lot of O'Connell, but I have seen plenty of Latifi.
Seems like a squash match to me. O'Connell might be better suited at MW??

I've seen some people ITT on O'Connell, and I am looking for a little clarification on his overall skill set.

Latifi is a tank and looked phenomenal at weigh-ins. -255 seems tempting to me.

Where is the value on this fight? Thanks,

O'Connell is a tough SoB. See Villante fight who hits like a truck ate his shots up. I think he has decent tdd and i am one of the few who thinks he can pull this off i really dont rate Latifi. I assume he has a reach advantage here we will find out quickly what Latifi's chin is like.

What time does tonight's card start? 8? I'm working until 830 hope i don't miss much

Agree O'connell is tough, but he has been stopped in 5 of his 6 losses (2 by sub granted). Villante hits hard but I think Latifi hits harder.

GF on Cruz Browne Pettis Pearson and Cote according to Luca website.

Man Cote is tempting as a slight dog. Cote better standing and can take Saunders down if needs to albeit needs to be careful in his guard.
If Cote enters Saunders guard it'll be like a housefly accidently getting trapped in a daddy long legs web it won't be pretty.

Saunders rubber guard is one of the best ever.

Agree. But Saunders has very little chance of getting it to the mat if Cote doesn't want it there (and he probably won't). If Cote finds himself there his goal will be to free himself and stand up, not do damage.

Is Barroso that bad to be the underdog? He's bigger, higher ranked, had a full camp, goes for takedowns, not his UFC debut on 0 days notice.

Barroso is bad, and Elvis will be a solid addition to the MW division who probably should've been signed awhile ago. Barroso could conceivably hug him for 3 rounds though considering the circumstances

FOTN props coming up right now. any leans?

13 fights tonight, so FOTN will be tough (and cruz-dillashaw likely back and forth 5 rounder, so that's the favorite)

think saunders-cote has some merit, tho. +700.

+700 is easily worth a stab, took that for FOTN.
