Bellator 149 - shamrock vs gracie... again...

Just dropping in to say . 220 on Royce at +237 and 60 +800 for KO. I degened like a mother fucker tonight. Sorry to those who lost. Hopefully there werent any Dada/Ken backers.

My only regret would be eyeing the over 1.5 for the Dada Ferguson fight but never pulling the trigger. I assumed Kimbo would have blasted Dada in round 1 so that line would have had no real value. Didn't expect Dada to be this good or Kimbo this bad (guess it depends on how you want ot look at it)

Down £100 but Kimbo won so long as Brunson wins i will come out even.

Well, on the plus side at least bellator Live betting is a distant pipe dream, that shit could bankrupt this thread lol

It's hard to complain for losing money on Ken when the completely card was a mess. What a terrible night of fights. Coker has to stop with this stuff to make Bellator legitimate.

I made money on the night and have Kimbo leading a few legs of parlays but I feel very very dirty.

Seems like people who bet Shamrock are convinced he would of won if he didn't get kneed in the nuts. He seemed scared to strike with Royce "untapped hands" Gracie and was probably half way to gassing from just dancing around the cage. Even though it is hard to say what would of happened, I feel Gracie was the right side. All in all I think the lesson should be not to bet on circus fights, I mean Kimbo/Dada would of both been starched by any 155er and above in the UFC lol. Bellator should be embarrassed by promoting those fights.

Not convinced he would of won at all. Actually thought Royce was throwing some good kicks, even if none landed clean. Just frustrating when a ref costs you the fight. Idgaf about Ken's delayed reaction, that happens, the ref needs to pay attention to where the knees are landing in that spot. Can't even say the lesson is don't bet on circus fights. The ref has fucked people over many times i.e. Silva vs Dober.

I disagree ;)
(I bet on Royce and Kimbo :p)

but I was shitting myself a little with the line movement and stuff on the Kimbo fight - admittedly, not a smart fight to bet decent sums on.

I wish I had the balls to have bet on Royce ITD as well - I just couldn't see cripple Ken lasting 3 rounds in his condition.
Kimbo would make fun of my balls, then Royce would kick them :(

Yeah, wish I wasn't convinced to hedge out of Royce when the line turned to near-even. The ending wasn't legitimate but Ken wasn't going to get past those kicks easily and he folded, as is typical, when something went wrong.

It sucks that it ended on a groin strike, the ref should've done a much better job, but who else completely stops defending themselves on a shot like that?

ouch, sorry to hear that man, I've been there with weed and booze lol, like I can't even remember who I just bet on LB, then chasing on the other guy when he was the one I bet on then half your bankroll down the toilet..
I remember when anderson fought chael the second time I just got back from a wedding so of course I was shitfaced and I was planning to put a LOT on chael and bet on anderson by mistake, I didn't even realise until the next day lol. best hangover ever but I'm still way down from a couple nights like that ...I blame my friends as I wasn't even planning on going home to watch the events but they were just too damn responsible..

On the upside I look back on times like those and I'm glad they happened you learn a lot from doing stupid stuff like that, and they definitely save you more money in the long term. GJ winning most of it back so soon though. I bet it still stings bad tho?
I think a lot of us have got big $$$ on tonights fight, I got more than most big ufc's oO

(First off I apologize but I'm going to put this into two threads because I do not know which one that people are using now that BFC is finished but the thread is still open)

Thanks a lot Road! Yeah it stings a bit still but not too much because I have it in the BR to afford (fortunately) and I am always convinced that I could make it back in relatively short amount of time.

First of all, the money that you have in your betting account (your bankroll) should not be money that you are depending on to pay bills with or live on – if that is the case, you should NOY be betting period.

The "Goodfella Betting Axiom" is this:

#1. There are two words regarding any form of betting that a bettor must familiarize themselves with before risking their money which are the terms "CAN AFFORD" and CANNOT AFFORD". If you can't truthfully say the sentence, "I CAN afford to lose that bet." As opposed to "I CANNOT afford to lose this bet" then you shouldn't be betting at all.

That is to say, you should be able to afford to lose and not stress over the loss for more than a few hours. If you actually depend on the outcome of a particular wager going one way or the other, then you seriously should not be betting on sports because it is just too volatile. Everyone who has been betting for any amount of time knows the old cliché "It is a marathon not a sprint". All the regulars ITT know that there are peaks and valleys in the sports betting process but what the weary traveler is ultimately searching for is the plateau with a gradual slope. Meaning that in between those ups and downs your long term betting history should be even keel with an upward trend.

Finally, a betting tip I've offered up in which I utilize myself is that I don't look at the money in my book account as disposable income but instead as points won/lost in a video game. Using the video game metaphor: Just like a video game you are going to slowly learn the game and over the course of time get better at it. Along the way you are going to accumulate more points and move up more levels. However, -- as anyone who has ever played video games knows -- there are going to be many times where your "character" will "die" forcing you to start over. The idea is not to sit down and beat the game on one try but to get better at it the more you play. Appropriately, the theory behind viewing your BR as "video game in points" allows you to remove the stress and anxiety from the equation as seeing your BR as points means it isn't as if someone just stole "$XXX" from your wallet.

Apologies for the long spiel .... Just thinking that any new sports bettors ITT can make use of this advice .. BTW Rpad, as me and you have both lost money from being under the influence when betting, there should be a new campaign started saying "Friends don't let friends drink/smoke when betting "
