The only way I see McG going for takedowns is 1. If he's getting chewed up bad on the feet (highly unlikely), gets rocked (highly unlikely), or gets injured like in the Holloway fight or comes into the fight with a bad injury(also pretty darn unlikely).

he could reverse one like he did against brandao, tho

The pic of Nate I was alluding to earlier

transform
What's the source of this? Is this recent?

By the way, 5d has the Erosa fight listed as a LW fight. It is actually a FW fight. This has no impact on any pending wagers I just figured to let you guys know

Just watched the McGregor interview on UFC tonight.

He said he thinks Nate's jujitsu is very overrated and has no problem engaging Nate on the ground, passing guard, looking to mount and/or take back.

Would be fascinating to see him try and do this.

Holy shitttt this new embedded video is gold

"Hes got a fucking guy swinging a fucking pool noodle at you, smacking you in the face with it, promoting his own shit"

LMAOOO good ol Nick Diaz

This is the second one right? Only 2 out so far?

This will be McGregor's first fight ever at a reach/size disadvantage correct?

Will never bet against this man. Shame RDA pulled out, was prepared to hammer that -150 line soo hard

You'd bet against him. So would I. And this is even after my eyes were really opened in that Mendes fight. That was when I realized that at 145 (probably even 155) that whatever defensive holes he has don't matter that much at this point because his chin is so damn good. He's just not going to lose striking matches at LW or below imo.

All that said he's talking about WW. And he has the mindset to try to do it (which is awesome, makes him even more compelling). He'd just have no answer for Maia imo if that fight were made. Probably (in a different way of course) Wonderboy too. Of course I'd be on the edge of my seat watching him try, but at some point everyone has limitations.

Unless you were saying you'd never bet against him just due to fandom. Which is cool, I can understand that. I have a REALLY hard time betting against Mir. I have literally been a fan of his since he entered the UFC way back when. I've bet against him, but man did I feel dirty doing it.

We'll cross those Maia/Wonderboy roads when we get to them :D

But definitely a psychology driven comment. Mystic Mac is a bad motherfucker. Oddly, I'm leaning toward rooting for Diaz just for longevity of fandom lol

^^ Conor wants the fight to last a little longer, but he doesn't think Nate will last past the end of round one

I'm scared. During that interview and his open workout he said hes coming out the gate fast, and Nate is a slow starter.

Yeah Conor is the real deal, putting all of the hoopla, hype, and talking aside. The unfaltering belief he has in himself could be a blessing and a curse. He certainly has the skills to back it up, he has reason to have no doubts he'll take care of business every time out. But combat sports with weight classes are such a different animal (unless you are the dominant HW of that combat sport). Guys with the skills and psychological makeup that they just won't lose (Jordan, Tiger in his prime, Tyson in his prime, etc.) are rare, and Conor seems to fit the mold. But his size limits what he can do in the sport. I don't know exactly where his limits are, but he wants to test them. And I applaud it, it's gonna be fun to watch. But if he continues to push them he's going to run into someone who's just too big and too good. My guess is at WW.
