So I guess you think Bigfoot has technical standup too since he KOed Overeem. It's heavyweights man. A few of us said prior that Ben would get clowned standing unless he lands one big punch. That's exactly what happened there. The funny thing about your comment is that you are giving Overeem all this praise, but everyone acted like JDS looked like total shit when he got KOed by him. I'm saying exactly what I said prior to this fight - people overestimated Rothwell despite him looking like shit in most of his victories and people acted like JDS was done after Overeem while ignoring how he looked vs. Stipe.
No, Reem gassed vs Bigfoot. Same with Browne. He didn't gas vs Rothwell, he went offense for offense and got KOd for it.

Guys that can't move their feet like JDS are still in deep shit vs Rothwell, and thats a lot of guys. Like I said, a horrible style matchup when JDS was in the best form in years.

Of course people acted like JDS was shot when he got KOd. Dude couldn't pull the trigger, looked slowed vs Stipe in a fight he took lots of punishment, and has taken savage beatings vs Cain. Its a pretty reasonable assumption that JDS' best years might've been behind him.

To be fair, I figured JDS would knock his head off and not ride it out to decision.

Not to dismiss anyone or shit on their picks because I have made a slew of errors but I regret … But I was just so shocked from the get-go so many people were willing to write JDS off in a fight where he enjoyed such a substantial stylistic advantage. Yes Rothwell is good and JDS has regressed from the Kingpin he was from 2008-2013... But that guy was the division champion and one of the best heavyweight fighters in MMA history. As much as Junior has regressed there was not a point where Rothwell had caught up. While their trajectories were going in different directions ..if shown on a graph you would have JDS trending downward with Rothwell rising sharply upward..but the inflection point was no where near crossing IMO

In a lot of his victories, Rothwell exactly never looked like a top five level talent but more of a very shallow watered down division.

Nice ukram.
Was you mainly on ML live betting or props?

Live betting as always, do place some su plays but also look for decision and other prop plays but tend to hit them smaller like £50-100. I also use cash out or hedge and play the other fighter to recoup losses.

Live betting is not always available for euro bookies though usually main card is, unibet really only ones that do it fully but they limit you once fast once you start winning more, got limited in 2-3 months with unibet but you can still place multiple bets as always.

All that I can say is that I disagree, and the proof is in the pudding.

Apparently JDS came back to his old coach for this fight instead of fucking around with ATT or Nova Unao,
how the hell did i miss this? Anyway thanks to the +500 jds decision line it wasnt such a bad night, still really shoulda skipped this event and not made some last minute bets.

So the proof is in the pudding that Ben is garbage because a guy who people would universally agree could school him in prime form won the fight?

yeah, ok....

JDS did train at ATT this camp.

Think many regular board members felt jds was done, either that or we just keep remembering zombie jds face from Cain wars for 50 minutes.

Strawman much? I never said he was garbage. Having a great chin and killer instinct can take you far in the HW division. That is no secret. But for someone to act as though he has technical standup is a completely different story. You honestly sound like 12thman (MMAbettingtips) talking about how this fight played out. JDS didn't look a shitload better than he did in the past and Rothwell didn't look a lot worse than he did. MMAGoodfella hit the nail of the head. It was a horrible stylistic matchup and it showed.

Also, if you think I'm just saying this after Rothwell lost, see this thread: http://forums.sherdog.com/threads/why-is-rothwell-favoured-over-jds.3219277/

"Do people forget that he beat Stipe after the 2nd Cain fight? It's hilarious how people acted like he was shot, yet I remember so many people being on him when he was moderately to heavily favored over Reem."

"The point is that Stipe is a good win, especially in retrospect. Apparently people thought he looked good enough to be in the -250 to -300 range against Reem. MMA fans are very reactionary. People thought Reem was shot, but he looked solid even in his losses. Rothwell is the exact opposite. I don't feel he's looked very good besides his killer instinct and getting the finish. It's similar to how Travis Browne can be. I think Rothwell is going to get schooled standing here."

You said his standup is garbage, and thats beyond nonsense. For someone who talks about proof in the pudding, you can manipulate the outcome through interpretation however you want, but the fact is Rothwell KOd a not gassed Overeem because his stand up offense is not shit.

Goodfella hit the same nail on the head we ALL would've hit if JDS didn't seem like a fading fighter. Saying he didn't look a shitload better than the past is easy to dispute. Dude literally had to run away from Stipe, and had a fuck ton of sloppy moments. He was on point from start to finish, this is his best performance in years. Its funny on one hand you want to say this proves Rothwell's stand up is shit, but on the other hand want to say this was a bad matchup.......

Jesus, you are high.
I'm not high, its just sickening winning one bet makes you feel so entitled that you can sit there and talk about how garbage Rothwell's standup is.

EDIT well, I am high, but you get the point :D

Lol at still not understanding that I said his standup is bad prior to this fight, and that this fight would prove it.

He got outclassed standing for 5 rounds to where he couldn't do shit offensively. This is a fight at even odds. He looked completely lost standing. So tell me this - do you really think his standup is that far behind JDS's? If so, why in the hell would you bet him? How does this not show something? It's amazing how reactionary you can be with JDS's loss to Overeem, but you aren't here? Lol - it makes no sense.

Personally, not just signs of regression for JDS, but intangibles played a big part for me. Obviously still at this very moment, no one wants to give Ben credit for how good he is at jumping on openings, and the JDS that fought Stipe sure as hell gave lots of them defensively. Props to JDS, he showed up in form and really fought Ben as smart as anyone could. Body shots galore, technical footwork for the entire duration, and stunted Ben's aggression with perfect timing on the straight shots to the head and body. Dude didn't allow ONE tie up in 25 mins, I was not counting on that. Part of this gambling game seems to be pulling the trigger at the right time on fading fighters, just so happens this was definitely not the right time and JDS can still be a force.

Let me ask you this - do you think Rothwell was the right side in that fight? In retrospect, where would you cap that fight?
