Lol are seriously saying Maia isn't athletic enough to get Condit down?

Maia will most likely get him down, he doesn't wanna stand up with Condit. Heck why would he take down someone with utter shit TDD. Maia is probably the best grappler in MMA so why not take it to the ground. Don't get sidetracked by the odds. Condit wins standing up only. Maia will relentless go after the TD and its a three round fight.
yes i am. Maia is not very athletic. he grabs a hold of his opponent and drags them down

edit: wait i think we're getting confused here. i think Maia can get Condit down but it wont be easy. What i meant to say is Maia isnt athletic enough to get the takedown at will against Condit like he has on his recent run of wins

Anderson had bad TDD and Maia couldnt get him down once. He's gonna have the same problems w Condit

I wouldn't say that Anderson had "bad" takedown defence, plus those are two different weight divisions and two different versions of Maia.

yea i just edited my last post, i dont think Maia cant take Condit down, i just think itll be difficult

Anderson's takedown defense was all predicated on his reaction and his movement. I dont think I remember him ever being able to stop a takedown where his opponent got a deep shot on him

I missed the Condit opener, he is now +175 so I will just wait for a better price on Maia instead.

Took these instead:
Caceres +220 & O1.5 -166 (love this o1.5 line).
Story +195

How smart of a bet do you think a holm/jones parlay is?

Maia absolutely can wrestlefuck Condit for three rounds. If this was five rounds I would favour Condit but over three I think Maia can at least win the first two rounds. Maia is tough as hell so i can't see Condit finishing in round three either. I would have taken Condit @ +220 but I would have freerolled on it as I do like Maia here but not near -200 plus.

Barboza -250 @ Betsafe.

This seems about right to me. I really like Barboza here so should i parlay it up now or is it going to open around this mark everywhere do we think?

I like him too but I will wait for a better price.

@iGnP

respectfully disagree with maia not being able to take down condit.. if you don't think maia's td's have improved since the anderson fight.. idk what to say.. he now has the best td's in the entire 170 division, quite possibly... and anderson's tdd is better than condit's...

@iGnP Yeah I'll be with you on betting Condit as a dog, but I think we should expect Maia to score takedowns. Rory fought a great game plan with his stance and use of jab and straight kicks at range and still got bull rushed into takedowns a few times. Just a matter of how much Condit can make Maia work early to take over the second portion of the fight, imo

i acknowledge Maia can and probably will get a takedown(s) in the fight. But I dont think he will be able to take Condit down at will, like he has w his recent opponents. I really see this fight being a boring fight of bull versus matador and even though Condit's TDD hasn't been good in the past, I would think he would find a way when that's literally the only thing he needs to worry about in this fight

Took condit +175

Down to +140

Hopefully condit can replicate the Rory fight, either that or maia on his back for 3 rounds

As soon as Maia/Condit was announced I immediately thought of the Condit R3 prop. Confident Maia doesn't get the sub and will be made to work alot in 2 rounds. For mine its either Maia via 'boring' 29-28 decision or Condit gets the late finish.

Then again, I'm sure everyone thought this when it was announced. Almost too obvious

Maia can submit anyone. Im more inclined to think Maia subs Condit in the third. Having a backpack on is tiring af.

Condit much better on the ground than Brown. I have little doubt Condit can survive. He may not get back up but I dont think he gets subbed.

Gunner has better jiujitsu than Condit and he got ran through. Condit will survive for a while but Maia is gonna snact ha sub in the third or get a decision in my opinion.
