UFC 200 pbp/etc

I think they are going to find Northcutt to be a bad investment. I understood their logic for signing him and paying him fairly big. He's young, good looking, and he was blitzing people. He really did look solid and very exciting in his pre UFC fights. Once he faces guys who can defend though, all bets are off. I don't think we'll see many second or third round finishes for Sage unless he improves a lot. Matchmaking is going to have to be good to him for him to succeed, but you don't want to stick him into a bunch of lower level fights either. He's just way overpaid right now.

Edit: And the funny thing is, they could have got him for much cheaper. I don't think the pay is even comparable to what he would have got elsewhere. People knock his dad a bunch, but if he negotiated that pay, he did outstanding.

He has terrible fight IQ. He kept going for takedowns even though he was winning the stand up. He gets out scrambled so easily. All i hear is people moaning about his dad. Sounds like he needs a solid camp badly to me.

Good for us tho hopefully the books keep over pricing him, albeit i suspect we won't see him anywhere near -300 for a while.

Theres plenty of reasons Sage getting paid so much is laughable, but the one that pisses me off the most is the fucking kid is rich already. You wanna pay scraps to a former champion but give the rich kid a giant check? Smh

Sage needs to fix his defensive grappling, if he does he will propably do pretty well but I will gladly fade him against any half decent grappler

I feel bad for the kid cuz he hit the UFC too fast. They are running out of low level competition to give him. He is getting tossed into the deep end without time to learn all aspects of the game.

not even frankie edgar thinks he won the fight. (but clearly you think you know better than a former champ, all time great and someone who was actually in the cage) sit down and get over yourself already.

effective octacon control (just to mention one criteria) doesn't equal your opponent being free to cut angles and move around, put those ''stats'' back in your ass where you found them.
