UFC 203 PBP/discussion

Good to see a lot of people made profit tonight, sorry to Overeem backers, hw is a coin flip.

Great event overall, probably the most UFC UFCcard ever. CB being pulled cause been hurt by an elevator wasn't t even on the top5 crazy things to happen. I imagine the new owners are sitting somewhere asking themselves "WTF did we buy?" Also, coach Edmure:

I am so sad …I lost about 9000 dollars. half of my bankroll. I can't control my stake. What should I do……?

Not bad but could have been better. Would have been a huge night if Eye didn't give up in the 3rd. Still thought she won but oh well. Lesson learned: stop betting on 135 women. Talking myself out of betting on Rivera and Andrade when their odds lowered was a bad decision, as well as not putting the mortgage on Gall. On to the next one.

Congrats to all the winners

so you are saying typically ronda's poon is known as a baseball glove? made to grip wood and have hands shoved inside it?

do not bet any amount of money you can not afford to lose, and of course don't bet half of your bankroll in 1 event, that's a lot of variance.
If you do not have much experience betting perhaps it would be better to start building your bankroll betting smaller amounts.
Is not a sprint, it's a marathon

Shitty man. All I can suggest is if you feel like you can't control yourself from going on tilt, you should probably step back and take a break for a bit. It's a shitty feeling but in time your emotions will level out.

How is Travis gonna finger Ronda now???

I'm sure edmund will be more than willing to step in while his finger heals!

ouch sorry man, I've actually been in a similar situation years ago, it was tough to recover from, I was just throwing money away chasing constantly over a week on fucking snooker of all sports, I lost about £8k. it took a couple years to get back on track and into profit again.
never bet more than a few % of your bankroll. don't bet for a while, clear your brain and think if you should keep betting or not. if you do discipline is the most important thing to maintain. don't make rash bet's because of emotions, keep your bet's simple, and consistent, and make sure you research and have good reasoning behind the bet's you place.

also keep a track of all of your bets if you dont already, spreadsheets etc and analyse the fuck outta them, try and work out which bets are working and which aren't then try and cut out athe bet types that more regularly lose, and just try to be efficient and emotionless at it. don't have the mindset that you have to win the money back out of stubbornness that's the fast track to losing your whole bank.

speaking of this, what kind of spreadsheets do people use to track their bets? this is something i've been meaning to do for a long time.

exactly a marathon and not a sprint. You want to be a Kenyan in this game, not a Jamaican.

I use spreadsheet.se, it's nice and simple and free, but there are multiple ones out there just like it. Link in my signature to mine.

Yeah cognitive bias is a bitch when it comes to gambling. Never bet on sports you are not knowledgable about in any way.
Don't involve unknown fighters in your main stakes. Bet on big favs and small dogs. young guys usually start as a small dog vs a veteran, but if they bring an 8-1 KO record its a good choice. Just bet smart, think about your picks. run multiple on your smart /safe accumulators and cash one out when you can. This will also stop you from degen spamming.
Set a stop loss and don't hesitate to give yourself a cool-down on a site. When your head says you should, DO IT. Because you can clear out your account because of tilt so fast, just to tell yourself how unlucky you are etc can never win.
Or if you won a few times pretty big, you don't add up all those losses..... SO USE SPREADSHEETS they are a slap in the face and will tell you where you are losing a lot of money. Usually it's all those little ones that add up, and the ones you feel confident with would net you a profit.
But yeah who would not stake 1 to win 100.000 or 10.000 or 100 even if you are in that mood.

I used to play a lot of online poker and while I was a consistent winner in cashgames, I never liked the grind, so I always played tournaments of 8+ hours, multiple tables with top heavy payouts. and if I won big I took a big shot at the cashgames, or if I lost some weeks in a row, i would just tilt off.
Tilting can be OK in poker because i would just launch a bunch of 0.10c tournaments and go allin every hand. With sportsbetting I don't know.. didn't have it yet. But stay away from those Blackjack or roulette buttons :p

Thank you for your kind advice. Much appreciated

Thank you for your kind advice. Much appreciated!Maybe my betting strategy is too crazy…I lost money mainly in main card. If I lose the first bet, then double my stake of second bet……

Thank you brother. I think I will take your advice
