let's hope ferguson skips the deadlift sessions so this fight can actually happen

I'm heavy on RDA, Ferg keeps getting hit and put himself in bad positions which won't work out against RDA and his super heavy top game.

Doesn't rda have problem with aggressive strikers? Wasn't this the case with Alvarez?

I'm on Ferg here I think. This man is a relentless pressure fighter and 5 rounds greatly favours his style. Prob get an awesome price on Ferg lb after r1 or r2 as well.

^^^^^Yeah the more I think about this fight, the more I think this might end up being FOTY or at least one of the candidates. I think RDA will have success early as he counters Ferg early but Ferg's toughness and pressure will start to take over the 2nd half of the fight. I don't expect RDA to wilt necessarily, but I do think he'll slow down as Ferg constantly attacks.

Ferg split/majority dec is +880...

Ferg does get tagged early in fights as he just feels he will always win the war of attrition. This is a different caliber of fighter though, so for sure there's concern he gets too reckless and RDA puts him away early. But Ferg just seems like a guy who "wants it more" than anyone else right now. I think there could be legit concerns with USADA and RDA given the struggles a lot of the Brazilian guys have had (maybe not, could have nothing to do with him). Plus historically champs coming off the loss of their title actually don't fare exceptionally well. RDA doesn't seem like a guy to lose motivation that quickly, but for some guys it's a letdown they really struggle to get over.

Has RDA ever slowed down? From memory he always looked super game... Ferg is pretty tough to put away though...

I just think if Vannata could rock Ferg on multiple occasions, RDA will do the same, and he has killer instinct like a motherfucker. I also expect his BJJ to shut down Fergs submissions and scrambles due to amazing top control.

Ferg was rocked by a spinning back fist and head kick. Genuine question does RDA throw high kicks? A spinning back first has ridiculous momentum but is very low %. Ferg also knew jack shit about the guy and natural human nature would mean he would have underestimated him. He may not have been as sharp as usual as the normal nerves and what not may not have been there, as he was fighting someone he thought he would walk right through.

Ferg vs RDA is such a difficult fight to predict. Ferguson is just so reckless and that can work for or against him. That said, I'm fairly big on him here. He seems to be almost impossible to put away and 5 rounds is a long time to avoid all his crazy attacks. I think he'll end up hurting RDA with something and finishing him with a choke. I have to wonder about RDA's chin as well after the beating he took from Alvarez.

I don't think RDA has ever noticeably slowed down, but he's never faced a pressure fighter like Ferg either (and to be honest, I don't think there really are many like Ferg). He really does break guy's wills with his pressure. Not to get too psychological here, but I think it has to be extremely mentally taxing to land on a guy and have him just keep coming at you and landing himself.

Vannata really only "rocked" Ferg once, with the flush headkick. He landed at other times, but Ferg was piecing him up with that hard jab too. Vannatta just completely wilted in rd 2 of that fight. The pressure and eating all those shots broke him. Now, that said I realize he's far from RDA. Ferg is gonna have to better than he was in that fight. But I do think at this point Ferg has become a master of turning all of his fights into wars of attrition. And he's simply able to wear guys down.

I definitely expect that if this fight goes past rd 2 that Ferg will start to fare better. BUT, that doesn't mean I think RDA wilts and gets put away necessarily. I agree he's game and while Ferg is a terrific finisher, he doesn't have the power of Alvarez to necessarily land 1 or 2 shots and put RDA on wobbly legs. It would have to be a cumulative thing. But I think very good chance it's a back and forth fight and actually does live up to what we all hope to see.

I havent seen held guys how does he beat diego? Can he out strike him? Can he get takedowns?

Just saw that Chris Avila is fighting on this card. Did not see him getting a second chance.
