UFC 210 PBP/Discussion

Damn it AJ.....

Mousasi looked bad, off balance, weird/awkward stance, over extending punches wtf?

Patrick Cote, thanks for fuckin up everything.
I think Mousasi was hunting for a finish too much. I hope he stops doing that and starts fighting smart again.

Legal or illegal the asshole doctors are to blame. There Is no replay rule so Chris had his time out, said he was fine, yet they still ended. Really dk how it's not a no contest though when there is no replay rule

That wouldn't affect the betting outcome
won't it change it to a push if the comission rules it a no contest afterwards? If that's not the case, yay! It fucking sucks it ended that way though, I'm confident Mousasi would've finished Chris anyways he was gassing

Pretty much all bookmakers have a rule that only the official result right after the fight has ended is relevant

Everybody takes L's, even I took a small one tonight, good to let the bookie win sometimes, now I won't feel so bad when I crush them next week. #TakeThatL #ComeBackStronger

Yeah, that dude is a complete fucking scam artist and I hope no one ever follows him. When I say scam artist I would literally mean it. Like he went to jail for ripping off elderly people and his name is NOT even Steven Stevens. Read this when you get a chance:

Among other quotes from an investigation on him by the people "Wager Minds" said:

Steve Stevens is a big-time Las Vegas handicapper with VIP Sports. That's what Steve Stevens and CNBC say, anyway, as they prepare for "Money Talks," a "docu-soap" ("reality show" in other words) that will focus on the company of Stevens, the handicapper himself, and the agents and clients who risk big money on sports for what is hyped as a 71.5% chance at the right pick, thanks to ol' Steve Stevens himself.

The issue? Steve Stevens isn't Steve Stevens, apparently. Wager Minds ran a thorough debunking of this entire show and the star of the program yesterday, pointing out that this VIP Sports Las Vegas company is registered to a Darin Notaro, who happens to look exactly like Steve Stevens. Darin Notaro has quite a history:

Now, we’ve covered the sports betting industry for years and we’ve never heard of the “well-known” handicapper Steve Stevens. But, after watching his introductory video, we can confirm the following: Steve Stevens is a phony who runs an old-fashioned boiler room pick-selling operation. He claims he picks games at a “70-69%, year in, year out.” Then his video kindly corrects his off-the-cuff remarks and points out he actually hits at a 71.5% rate. The actual odds of someone like Stevens hitting at 70% against the spread over an extended period of time? Approximately one trillion to 1.

Since we had never heard of Steve Stevens – or his company “VIP Sports Las Vegas” – we did some basic internet research. And we found some interesting things. It turns out that the domain name of Stevens’s tout operation was registered just eight months ago and it’s registered to a man named Darin Notaro.

Who is Darin Notaro?

Well, there’s a Darin Notaro in Las Vegas who was on probation for six federal felony counts of telemarketing fraud by wire when he was arrested for his role in a 1999 telemarketing scam that bilked elderly victims out of more than $234,000. Notaro was ordered to pay back $12,230 and sentenced to one year in jail. At the time of that arrest, Notaro was 25 years old. Two years later, at age 27, Notaro was arrested for another telemarketing scam where, again, he targeted elderly people. Oh, and Notaro, who has at least one confirmed alias of Darin Sasser, was arrested for a previous telemarketing scam at the age of 24.

Just watched this event. Came out unscathed but I feel for Weidman and Weidman bettors.

Overall, what a shitshow! I really hope the UFC can get it together because at this rate Bellator will be the biggest show in town within two years.

UFC 210 gave us:

Towelgate/scalegate
Implantgate
Kneegate
NCAA Crumble
Cringeworthy AJ retirement
DC WWE post-fight interview

dan miragliotta ows me money that much i know. im gonna contact him on social media and ask my weidman money back.

I took a bath last night. Almost 14u down. Worst event in a long time.

2016 was brilliant for me. 2017 not so much. Need to turn things around here.

The o2.5 losing with that Weidman debacle was a 6u swing for me. Then I got rejected twice trying to bet DC after rd 1 which would have recouped 3u for me.

Train wreck night, moving on.

One of my worst nights ever last night. Calvillo, Cummins and Alves saved it from being any worse. Grats to DC and Moose backers.

Time to self-analyze and come back stronger. Rocking the Worm avy until I'm out of this hole.

Looking back past the extremely sour taste of the main and co-main fights...

Holy fuck am I impressed with Calvillo's ground game. Her hips are fucking NUTS. I was shooting in my pants over her seamless floating on the back and butter smooth transitions. Her boxing ain't bad either. She's a real problem at 115.

Alves looking vintage, fantastic fight. Sad to see Cote hang em up though, he's given us so many great scraps.

I am officially off the "Brooks still has a ton of upside" train. I mean he's still talented but maybe it's something about the nerves of the big stage? Idk.

Burgos had a hard time figuring out Rosa's goofy ass style at first but that was an awesome finish. I expect some great fights from this dude.

Man Cummins is a tough MF'er. Despite getting rocked by every single strike Jan threw he staggered forward and still got his grind on, I fucking love it. Dude legit probably shouldn't be fighting though.

I hate losing money but I feel even worse for Weidman.

Yes. Let's all feel sorry for the guy who tried, and failed, to lie his way to a DQ win by faking memory loss etc. He's a *EDIT* slightly dishonest individual *EDIT*

Awesome night mago + cyn hit which was the big one. Hit a 6 teamer @ +1000 and missed a 7 teamer @ +1500 cos moose over didnt hit. Half a unit on cummins hit too and won a little lb dc. My lb game was off last night only lb profit was dc and moose but both pretty small didnt pull trigger on much else except aldana @ +500 lol! My 11 leg lotto ticket £70 for 8k hit 9 out of 11 legs. I will hit one this year!
What was the 6 teamer?

My Calvillo speculation didn't pan out -- she's definitely the real deal on the ground. Fucking tornado of sub attempts and heavy control. Really exciting to watch.

Great to see Oliveira deliver again. Always one of my favorite guys to bet / take on DK because of his insane ceiling. Truly a kill or be killed fighter and the value on him is crazy if he's a dog.

Congrats dude! What was your 6 teamer?

Not too bad a night. Despite my 3u play in Weidman ending badly, ML + LB on Cormier after R1 brought it back. Up 4u from this event, but down 1-2 units total for the week on some poor rugby picks. Def feel I need to play more on MMA and less on other sports, but my thirst is real.

Oh, and I got screwed by the weird Liam Williams stoppage in the boxing, so hoping my bullshit calls quota for the month has been fulfilled.
Oh rugby's burned me pretty bad this year. It's taught me an important lesson about betting on other sports. Soccer/rugby are just impossible to profit consistently from, leaving those fuckers well alone from now on.

Where were you live betting at brother?

Agreed! The odds were way off for Oliveiras fight against Brooks.
I had 5u on the win @ 3.50 and another 1u on the fight not to go the distance @ 2.00+

Lol It wasn't CW who quit your fucking goofball he was separated and told him to take his time. Told he had time on the clock. Told that it was an illegal knee me to the head. WHICH IT WAS! He wanted to fight. He's not the one that gave up or even looked at the ref, Dan is the one who broke them. If you think he was looking for a way out you don't know jack shit. And I hope you get banned for calling him a scumbag which is fighter bashing. It's pretty pathetic when guys like him are going in there laying there life on the line so you can sit on the couch the next day and call them names.

Up 8 units for the night. Would've been +16 units if Emmett won and my +400 4 man parlay hit, fucking Emmett. Oh well, can't really complain. Had 8u on DC to win and 5u on the o1.5, these were my most confident picks so I wish I went even bigger on DC, i've never lost money on him, one of the reasons he's my favourite fighter. Also won a few units on Alves. Sad to see Weidman lose, haven't been able to watch the event yet so I'll have to catch up.
