Well, I'd pass, but just because of the unknowns and the fact that it's a HW fight. But I'd bite at -200 still.
My point was that Hunt was getting severely underrated and only because of recent losses. People were a prisoner of the moment. I mean, it was a case of undervaluing Hunt, and overvaluing Lewis. Somewhere along those lines here an inflection point had people believing TBB was far better than he really was. And Hunt far more determined. Despite video evidence to the contrary.
I know it's already happened and I don't want to relitigate the case. But here is what pushed me towards the Samoan and off TBB.
Hunt:
- Losses to Reem and Werdum are not bad L's. Plus Hunt was winning the Werdum fights handily until he wasn't lol His fight with Reem was very close but it was a bad style MU just like the Stipe fight.
- People were acting like Hunt, in recent years has completely fall apart. This was inherently wrong and easily proven to be so both on paper and through video. Since 2014 Hunt has been 4-3-1
- Every fight he had was against someone the top 10. Each of his losses were against fighters in the top three over Reem + Werdum and The champion Miocic respectively.
- His victories — at the time — were also in the top 12 in Roy Nelson + Bigfoot and Frank Mir. Three fights that took mark a total of just 9:42 to dispatch the trio
- His losses to top 3 were very competitive save Stipe who murders everything in his path right now.
- Hunt dropped Werdum x 3 and was winning until the most unlikely scenario possible takes place. We're on that flight back at that same time and hunt likely win 7 out of 10 times.
- Hunt is 8-4-1-1 over the course of the last 14 fights. Most of them coming against bona fide steroid users.
Lewis:
- Lackluster performance and weak oppo.
- Was clobbered by Jordan and Meathead before he picked up wins over HW roadkill like Grabowski, Pesta, Guto and Jack May.
- Has victories over the elderly Big Ccuntry — in a contest for worst flight of the year — thennanother Razzie award winning performance against Shamil Abdurakhimov where he was losing four straight rounds before the Russian gas tank dried to parchment.
- A craptactular "W" over Travis Browne were he was being absolutely obliterated by Travis Browne until Travis Browne had a bad time to remember that he was in fact circa 2017 Edmond trained Travis Browne and thus found a way to lose.
- Only ONE Top 10 fight and victory. Over the aforementioned Travis Browne.
I digress. This was my ammunition to make a bet on the Samoan as an underdog.
