Boxing Discussion VI

That's pretty damn good...

what do we know about Kovalev's opponent?

do you think this is a good bet?

Shabranskyy is aggressive with some solid power, good pressure and likes to break his opponents down. However he is defensively flawed and his aggression leads to him leaving some glaring holes and I think that will be his undoing against Kovalev, he's the wrong style to try beat Kovalev. He's tasted the canvas before and I think he does again here and gets finished.

Not sure if I'll play the TKO line or round group instead.

could you clarify what "round group" means?

he claimed of a stomach illness before the barrera fight but his punch resistance is definately questionable

hes had some 200+ kickboxing fights to go along with his 200+ amatuer fights so he has a lot of mileage. if sharbrankskyys can get inside and smother kov and fight inside, which really is not his style, he could make things interesting. he cant give kov space and has to negate the length like ward. everyone has heard of the sparring session where golovkin dropped and badly hurt kov with a body shot so wards ko is not a fluke

i played sharbrankyy ml hedged with kov 6-12.

Think I have my weekend bets finalised, just going over them to confirm.

Man I wish Gamboa gave Boxing his all, such a huge fan, just seems like yesterday he was the next big thing. Even now training under Otano I can't risk backing him against Sosa, for all the flaws he's shown. I wouldn't rule him out completely here but nor would I risk money on him. Most likely going to play Fight Does Not Go The Distance. He still has the power and speed to hurt Sosa but I think Sosa can tuck him away later in the fight if he doesn't manage it so will most likely be my play.

Crusher apparently got in shape, started working with a new trainer and quit drinking and smoking in advance of this bout. Let's hope we see a quick KO against a fighter who can be hit.

Sergey Kovalev/Vyacheslav Shabranskyy Under 7½ (-120) $120.00 for $100.00

On Ustinov @ 1.63 vs Charr.

Will also play his TKO line if it becomes available.

sosa dec +250, rd 6-10

gamboa dec +700

draw +3500

35-year-old gamboas 4th fight in eight months but if yourokis fights defensively and doesnt burn out or take risks he could get to the final bell
