UFC 218 PBP/discussion

Torres-Pennington mindmelt is nice! I like the gritty determination of Pennington imposed on athletic but previously hesitant Torres. Not sure if she's better fighter now, but maybe she has a better change for the belt with this mindset. When I first saw Torres in Invicta I thought she was like female Manhoef, but then I was very disappointed by her lack of power and true aggression. But now, maybe? She needs still more power though.

I've never even heard of that site, why are you betting there? What country are you in?
It's a UK bookie. They're generally great.. good odds, great for live betting, instant withdrawals etc. This is the first issue I've had with them.

It's the wording of the bet I'm disappointed about. Obviously they mean O3.0 rounds when they've got it listed as O2.5. They're not stupid, the .5 is there purely to confuse/mislead people.

Now you mention it their odds for the overs are often a little better than other bookies and now I know exactly why lol.

Still took 190 quid off them over the night but it should have been £450 more and that's going to gnaw away at me for a few days.

I'd love to get into this .5 rounds business with a trader rather than the usual call centre morons over live chat, but that's easier said than done.

But ultimately @Roads55 is correct, as bettors we have to be one step ahead and read all the fine print beforehand

God. I’ve lost a fortune on Reem since he entered the ufc. I need to get me head examined

what do you guys think the ML would be on Frankie/Max? Transitive property doesn’t work in mma, right? Bc id be all over Frankie as a dog

They're wrong bro. The person that graded it is thinking that it's like a .5 on a point spread. It doesn't work like that. It's ambiguous as fuck, but if they are the only sportsbook in the entire industry to grade o/u's like that they're gonna have problems.

I'd raise he'll until they fix it.

Trouble is it's in their T's & C's that only completed rounds count regarding total rounds bets.

I will have another nibble at them but I'm going to be smart and wait until my 2 grand withdrawal goes through first lol.

Holloway opened at -205 when the fight was originally scheduled for 218. With Edgar coming off an injury and Max looking even more dominant in the Aldo rematch, I'd expect Max to be at least -250.

Skybet have done this to me in the past for a £90 win, nothing big but still annoying at the time.

I think they have fixed it now.. or maybe ive got a mental note somewhere stopping me from placing overs/unders .. either way paddypower is what i use for overs or unders now. Skybet usually good for enhanced odds accas

I wouldnt say he looked more dominant. The fight looked pretty similar to the first fight

Carbon copy of the first fight almost. Aldo putting everything into every strike and Holloway staying loose letting him gas. Aldo's head movement was better from memory but Aldo did almost nothing different. He threw and landed a couple of hard kicks but didn't throw enough to stop Max coming forward and overwhelming him the same as last time

Grats on the win, but anything can happen I livebet a boatload of money on Kennedy when he basically had Yoel on queer street at the end of rd 2...and we know what happened (damn that stool...).

EZ I think you lost a big chunk on that one too?

i don't wanna talk about it (2800 swing i think)

I disagree. Aldo hurt him in round 1 of the first fight and was up 20-18 on all three scorecards headed to the third.

I thought Max was more aggressive from the get go in the second fight and he clearly was up 20-18 going to the third. The end result was the same but there were subtle differences IMO.

Fair point. I am likely wrong but I didnt think Max won both rounds, actually. But fightmetric stats support your claim so I'm not gonna make an argument for it
