Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series- Season 2

Wow just realized that hardy actually opened as the underdog and now is a -160 fav.. ugh is Lane that legit to where he actually opened as a fav? What am I missing

Will Santiago opened at +350, I got on him at +305. He'll likely be much shorter- wish we got weigh-ins for these- but a pretty good and well rounded fighter.

Holy shit Hardy was like -3xx earlier today. He's -165 now. People hammering Lane I guess today.

-3xx against his previous scheduled opponent.

Lots of juice as expected, Menifield opened -900, Holland -750, Curtis -600. Took a bit of Boatwright +500, waiting on a couple lines to improve

Are you sure? I know he was in that one, I thought they'd switched it before today. I could be wrong though.

Hardy opened at +141 and hasn't been lower than -200

Yeah I guess they just had him listed against the other guy all the way up until today. Which is weird given the opponent has been switched for quite awhile now.

I'll probably play Lane as the dog here. They're very comparable athletically (Check out their combine stats), Hardy's got more mileage on the clock physically and less experience as a fighter/coaching-time. Probably only a unit or two, though.

Austen Lane: 240 lbs, 6'6 tall, looks long on the video I saw and seems like he is more technical and likes to be on the outside.

Greg Hardy: 264, 6'5 tall, likes to throw power shots and will close the distance fast.

I could be wrong, but I assume that since both guys are new to MMA, Lane won't be skilled enough to keep Hardy on the outside long enough to find his spots. I assume Hardy will be able to close the distance and connect on Lane.

Yeah, but they're both athletic enough that it's not like Lane won't be able to bang on the inside if Hardy's pushing it there. I think this is gonna be really, really coinflippy.

I’m blindly playing Santiago and Boatwright 0.5U each. Those odds are so juicy.

So it's the day of and still only a couple bookies have odds up, really hope the rest of the bookies will follow soon.

Took some of Santiago at +485 earlier and now added a bit at +525 and hope later today we at least get overs.

greg hardy

-got the weight cut out the way so happy
-not afraid to be in the spot light, works harder then everyone else
-discusses his past, here to show he is not that person at all and everyone knows hes a humble guy
-says people have their own opinion but do not know the facts of the situation let alone know his
good character.
-dana gave him the 2nd chance for a ufc try out so wants to show people hes the athlete he is
-says he is a dangerous fighter, prepared to do the job
-wil go back to ATT camp to keep training with the best once he wins
-not here to cm punk his way to ufc, wants to earn it and get in correctly through hard work
-is a soft spoken, quiet guy but went to ATT camp and went to sleep alot
-claims if you do the work it will show, if you don't it still shows
-in nhl did not get credit for anything, but would love another chance at football.

Austen Lane

-this fights another step in the journey
-ufc took 2 nhl guys to tune in and watch
-comes down to who has the better skill set
-outreach on social media has been great
-there is no good or bad guy role here, despite hardy's past. Only concerned with the fighter
-knows his opponent, done tape, 3 r1 kos, is a striker.
-has a game plan against hardy in place
-did MT, bjj and boxing from one gym to another even before his football career since enjoyed it
so transition to mma was already there.
-started on small circuits getting paid nothing and fighting tough fights, got drinks thrown at him
but still loved it all and got the ko wins.
-trained @ jacksonville mma
-says everyone is discussing greg hardy due to his name, but when he puts him away everyone
will turn to him.

although hardy is an absolute piece of shit he is a markedly better athlete than lane.. he was an above average nfl player with serious speed so it will be interesting if his athleticism translates

why do you say he's a markedly better athlete? where's that evidence? legit curious, I don't see it anywhere.
