Is it almost a bit anticlimactic to go from Cerrone vs Ferguson to Jessica Eye vs Valentina? Going from a 3 round potential FOTY to what will presumably be a snooze fest reminds me of going from Eddie vs Justin to Cejudo vs Pettis

We went from seeing FOTY to a terrible snoozer (fights were starting in the crowd)

In what way does the UFC benefit from allowing guys like BJ and Silva to continue fighting? Do you believe Dana not being as much in pocket with the UFC owners as he was in the Zuffa era has something to do with why he's reluctant to force guys into retirement and give them 'jobs' once they get too old to compete (ala Hughes, Liddell, Griffin etc...).

Will I live long enough for the new tool album August 30? serious question here.

Is there ever a time when instant rematches are actually justified

Hi Ant. Jon Jones seems unbeatable now. Who do you think can defeat him, and how? Also if he gets a loss do you think he'd continue with great success or that his 'puzzle' would be solved by others, so to speak. Hope you enjoy a good weekend.

We discussed this topic two shows ago, let me get you the timestamp of when they were asked the subject. It's a good one, there's a lot to pick through -- Shogun/Machida, JJ/Rose, Stipe/DC in a half-sense.

Good looks

Right before that timestamp, they also talked about how Stipe's strategy worked out great, because even though everyone said he should fight and do something, he sat out and still got the title fight.

Do you think it'll really drop this August? They've been teasing us for about 11 years now.

We are going to put the poll up in a moment, so please get in any additional combat sports questions while you can.

* Last week at LFA 66, Andrew Tenneson submitted another human being with an Aokiplata (a Mounted Gogoplata). The second in MMA history. So I ask you, do you have any favourite super-esoteric submissions?

* Do you think personal amicability between Frankie Edgar and Dana White is the reason why Edgar is being tossed this title-match? I remember him getting that instant rematch vs Bendo under a tad sketchy circumstances. Or is this just another example of the Ali effect in action?

* What does Charles Oliviera vs Nik Lentz 3 even indicate? Hell, Oliviera just beat David Teymur, who in turn just beat Nik Lentz and did so effortlessly. Do the UFC just not care about fighters who don't have killer managers? Is half of the game 90% backroom dealings?

Neither Diaz brother has ever pulled out of a fight they had a bout agreement for, afaik. The reputation of Nate pulling out of fights is wrong. His problem is signing fights. If he signs, he fights.
So if nobody gets injured the fight is happening (as always). Don't see Pettis pulling out like Poirier did for this one.

Also great questions by @europe1

This week's poll is up!

Will Nate Diaz vs. Anthony Pettis materialize at UFC 241, or will the fight be cancelled or postponed prior to Aug. 17?

Nate is one of my favourite “active” fighters, but I seriously doubt this fight happens. I said it in another thread:

Nate has to say yes a whole bunch of times between now and August 17, but he only needs to say no once.

Nate Diaz has never pulled out of a fight, yet sherdog seams to think he's a pullout merchant. Classic shertard logic.
