Mcgregor and khabib have been inactive the same amount of time. Lol. Jones is the most popular if you ignore mcgregor, don’t belong post Khabibs best non McGregor ppv
False. Khabib is way more popular than Jones internationally, even on Instagram he has 5 times more followers. Even in America, almost everyone who knows Jones probably knows who khabib is too.

Khabib was also top 15 in ESPN's most famous athletes in the world list, I don't even think Jones made the top 100.

@Grapplefest
Lol at the ESPN list
Jones has 3x the twitter followers give or take

Jones is the bigger name. Khabib is known as the guy that beat McGregor, jones is known as jones.

Show me Khabibs ppv numbers, make me laugh.

Jon is the bigger star until proven otherwise.

So... Seems like the promotion for UFC 238... commercials and during the last fight night have primarily been Cowboy vs Ferguson... Yes, we all want to see this potential fight of the year... But do the brass just have no faith in the "two" title fights selling the card?

Jettie and the Bens - Will all the retirements from UFC Stockholm - Nick Hein, Jimi Manuwa and Alexander Gustafsson - stick? And what about King Mo’s retirement?

Lmao maybe because 95% of Khabib's tweets are just links to his Instagram and most of his fanbase are in parts of the world where Twitter is irrelevant.

Also, the only non McGregor ppv that Khabib headlined against a real estate agent in short notice did 350k ppv buys. Jones' late notice ppv against OSP did 375k buys. The only difference is Khabib has become multiple times more famous since the Iaquinta fight.

If Khabib signed a rematch with connie i can see that being true.

Outside of that i can’t see how.

Also... voted yes. UFC/ESPN will pump the after Mcgregor altercations down the casuals throats hoping the eagle will soar high once again with top tier ESPN + PPV ratings...

Big Khabib fan here but I think that Ali is full of shit on this one.

@Grapplefest
Ppv is king and jones is Khabibs superior
Numbers don’t lie
Also why did you say since mcgregor isn’t active when khabib and McGregor have been out the same amount of time? Have I missed a khabib fight?

You want khabib to be a draw but he isn’t(like jones) Jones next ppv>Khabibs next ppv
It is what it is.
Khabib is number 3 which is still good.

You literally responded to none of my points. The only ppv that Khabib has headlined, which featured a real estate agent on short notice only did 25k less than Jones' ppv against a short notice opponent. This was when Khabib was much less popular too. He's grown exponentially since that fight.

Also i don't know why you're trying to argue ppv buys. My beginning point was that Khabib was the most famous worldwide active fighter, not biggest ppv buy, only Americans buy ppvs, most of Khabib's fanbase isn't in ppv areas. There's an argument that Jones is a bigger ppv draw, there's no argument that he's more popular worldwide.

I emphasized worldwide popularity over ppv buys, because with this new espn deal ppv buys don't mean nearly as much anymore.

Also, Khabib has a fight scheduled in 3 months that's why he's active and McGregor isn't.

Europe1 - Will Yoel Romero really see all of that 27 million dollars? Will they truly cut the check?

Snackgod - Is Nate “Diva” Diaz that full of himself (that he’s king of lightweights, he has a win over Khabib, he was offered a spot in a 165-pound tournament…), or is he just that stupid to believe what he was saying in his interview?

Robbie - Does the “GSP clause” in Khabib’s contract mean GSP is more likely to unretire? Does it mean anything at all?

Poll Question - Do you believe the claim that Khabib Nurmagomedov is the new highest paid fighter in the sport?

Rubberneck76 - Whether it be Patreon, or sites like The Athletic, what is your opinion on the trend of more and more sports media moving behind paywalls? What effects do you think this will have on the sport of MMA?

Frank McEdgar - If Henry Cejudo wins the Bantamweight title against Marlon Moraes, do you guys think that will be the final nail in the coffin for the Flyweight division?

With Brock and Ronda retired, I believe that dudes like Khabib and Jones* can demand more money. However, I think that a certain phone-smashing whiskey salesman gets paid more than anyone.

ArmedWithV - Are you satisfied with Cerrone-Ferguson being only three rounds? I’m not.

UFC 238 Who You Got - Donald Cerrone (36-11) vs. Tony Ferguson (24-3)? Valentina Shevchenko (16-3) vs. Jessica Eye (14-6)? Henry Cejudo (14-2) vs. Marlon Moraes (22-5-1)?

I don't see why it's hard to believe. Mike Conley was the highest paid player in the NBA for a time, because he was the first max player to get a new contract after the NBA's lucrative new TV deal. Conor will renegotiate his deal as well.

It seems the promise of getting a Khabib fight helped entice DCT Abu Dhabi into making that deal with the UFC, he deserves to benefit imo.
