The Trenches Ep. 38 Poll: Is co-promotion the best way for other organizations to challenge the UFC?

Is co-promotion the best way for other organizations to rival the UFC?

At this point, its not even about challenging the UFC. Its about carving a big enough slice of the pie to stay viable long-term. Bellator is constantly hovering on the red. Rizin has continious rating problems. PFL, ONE FC, and ACA/RCC only survive because of wealthy benefactors who don't mind burning money. Only KSW with their semi-freakshow focus seem to be making any legit profits.

It's not gonna happen anyway Dan learned his lesson with Chuck in Pride and Conor vs Floyd in whatever that organization was..

Dana has always been very adamant about not cross promoting and the two times he did do it his guy lost.

I doubt he will burn himself like that again.

I'm genuinely curious about that exact question.

What will happen if the PBC/Endeavor situation becomes a reality, though?

Sorry i thought this was MMA related that's a whole other subject. imo

They'll like this one. Not that they won't like the others, but this is a good topic that can bring some debate and good analysis. We just have to hope Burgos doesn't give us an "I don't know".
I mean all three of those guys historically fold under pressure and fight poorly off their back foot so it's not that deep of a topic.l

If Dana's the promoter of both organizations, crossover matches theoretically are much more likely.

That's boxing though, i don't get your point?

When it comes to MMA Dana (UFC) will just buy out the competition. He's done it many times already.

Bellator's next we all know Coker has a price. I mean he did sell his baby (Strikeforce)

Oh I wasn't talking about it in the context of the poll question.

The show may be a minute or two delayed because of LA traffic, but we should be starting shortly!

I don't believe UFC will EVER co-promote, unless some other promotion takes over and they become equals or UFC becomes to #2.
Only then they will accept.

The best way is to have a stud in your organization. Promote the hell out of him. Challenge the ufc champion in his division. You can’t co-promote with the ufc so say we will go on your card for free and cover their fighters pay themselves. Doubt the ufc still bites but if they somehow did your fighter better win.

Would be great for fans, UFC would never go for it.

The show is now live!

@europe1 - Are Cejudo's triumphs over DJ, TJ, and Moraes the best victory-trio in MMA history? Is it truly the trifecta of awesome?

@Mahkor - Why do elite veterans like Cowboy, RDA and Pettis among others, have so much trouble on the feet against El Cucuy? Is it the unconventional style or is it the pace breaking their flow?

@Bboy - What are your thoughts about illegal strikes that land during the finishing sequence? KJ Noons vs Jorge Gurgel, Melvin Guillard vs. Evan Dunham, and now Tony Ferguson vs. Donald Cerrone?

@Kung Fu Tze - Who do you want to see face Khabib next, Ferguson or the Mcgregor rematch? Would the Khabib camp turn down the Mcgregor money and maybe risk losing it if he gets another fight and gets smoked to possibly have Ferguson fight cancelled for the 5th time?

Cole Shelton - SD Contributor - Why wouldn't Bellator make the semi-finals of the welterweight grand prix on the same card or same weekend like they did for the heavyweights? Unfair that Lima gets so much time off, no?

Tony has pulled out of his fair share of fights and was offered Max Holloway but turned it down. come on now
