Hey everyone! Beatdown After the Bell is back on the Sherdog Radio Network, live tonight following the conclusion of the UFC on ESPN 7 card! We should begin somewhere around 12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT, for you to have a time to work with.

You can check out the archived version of the broadcast here!

We will add one of those ticker indicators on top to let you know we're on the air on the forum here. The front page already has the countdown clock set.

And yes, I will be joining TJ De Santis on the broadcast, and joined by Nick Albert of Clinch Gear and Team Quest. I will be on the play-by-play for the event, so check that out during the show!

We will take your calls at 917-832-8255. That’s 917-UFC-TALK!

Ah shit, I thought there was an actual beatdown of someone in the octagon after the Reem-Rosen fight :(

Hey Jaime,

Could you look that up...

What the fuck? This is great news. Will it be up as a podcast too? It was so long ago but I remember I used to listen to it in my car as a podcast once it had aired already.

thanks guys, can’t stand Helwanis bullshit anymore, need a replacement. Please make it stick tho, no “moving on to other stuff” after a few months, can’t break my heart twice TJ

Fantastic. Bring back Gross while you’re at it.

I've watched most every Invicta for the last couple of years and enjoy TJ's commentary. Will check this out.

Great news, too bad there’s no Breen.

Oh snap. TJ is back? Where is Breen?
Great news, too bad there’s no Breen.
Breen moved on from SD, but he's still a part of Between Rounds Radio. He may make an appearance sometime sooner or later.

Frank Mir is definitely enjoying this show. It's Beatdown, and it's back!

Weren't there enough actual beatdowns at that event?

Hey Jaime,
Could you look that up...
We will be able to do some hunting during the broadcast, TJ and I were discussing the rules behind technical decisions and no-contests, and we dug up the ABC ruleset. We don't have a "guy" for that research though.

That Daniel Cormier face is pretty much the one I made when I was invited on to the broadcast.

As a matter of fact, it is! You should be able to download the show right here on this page, or if for some reason it doesn't work like that, here is a link directly to the broadcast with a handy Download button right there. I just downloaded it myself, so I know it works fine.

Gross, like Breen, is part of the Between Round Radio network. The Athletic hopefully won't have an issue sharing him with the SRN for a night, and we're looking into it. This is the first of many, my friends.

TJ's got the perfect face for radio.

Pretty sure you're offering me a job or hitting on me...

Either way,

I'm in...

I'll have our people call your people and we'll bang out the details.

Question....why are you guys back to doing radio now instead of trying to build a Youtube channel? What I mean is I've listen to Sherdog radio since early 2006 with Gross and TJ and one critical error(imho) is that they never were able to make a serious attempt years ago at going on Youtube(not saying it was there sole decision as there are many cooks in the kitchen). I know you guys have some content Youtube now but I see this show is radio only. I'm just trying to figure out if this is a one time thing or on going.

I know Youtube may seem saturated but I think it's a mistake not going hard at that platform with MMAFighting now in the dumps. I really think you guys could build a following with this website's name if you can get the content on their more often. Just personal observation of someone consuming MMA for a long time.

We want to do it all. I have only officially been with the site for coming up on two years now, so I've been trying to help doing what I can, but I agree. Youtube hasn't appeared to be a focus, we had the radio and we cornered the market on it. Now that it's back, hopefully we can revive it and keep it in the podcasting format, as I know that we are looking to eventually (potentially) have daily content, even if it's a half hour of King Mo and Rob Tatum telling stories for one of those days.

I think the difficulty of SD compared to sites like Fighting is that we don't really have a centralized office that most of us go to. We have guys and girls from all over the world, ranging from Texas to Hawaii to Italy to Russia to the Philippines and so on. This means an in-studio show isn't as easy to pull off, despite that we have the studio for it in the west coast.

Are you guys aiming to get back to the old format with a bunch of different pundits for the Roundtables?

Is there any hope of Jack Encarnacao ever participating again? I get that he was always destined for bigger and better things, but it seemed liked he’d already moved on anyway and did a few things as a labor of love. That or TJ has compromising pictures of him.

@bubbleboyjones good thought. Even if the YouTube upload was a still with the audio rip, you’d at least be taking advantage of a huge platform. And you can always text even the biggest Luddite a YouTube or SoundCloud url and they’re off and listening.

And i missed the episode. Only saw this thread now.

Are you guys back for good? Like, is this a one time only thing, or it will happen after every card?
