@AntWalkerMMA and I were joined by Casey Leydon from MMA Fighting and Matt Hunter from Mixed Combat Radio to dig into that Korean Zombie beatdown, the Bellator Hawaii doubleheader that wasn't, and get ready for the end of the year. I had a little something to say about the Fedor vs. Rampage fight, specifically about how Bellator is handling the broadcast. Thanks to Hunter for stepping in for Mr. Duffy, who was away for the holiday. And please excuse the comical technical difficulties around 20 minutes into the show.

Regarding your rant: why is Bellator getting all the blame for this? Bellator has done nothing to promote these “postlims” it has entirely been on Rizin. You won’t find anything about them on Bellator’s media, only Rizin’s.Bellator’s focus has been entirely and exclusively on the main card. So why has Bellator been getting the majority of the blame? Seems like nobody can stop fawning over Rizin long enough to realize that this is just as much their screw up, if not more so.

felt like it was necessary to bring this up, because nobody else is playing the devil’s advocate, because “muh jmma”

We were told by various officials involved that the decision to air/not air these fights was up to Bellator, and that Bellator even shut down allowing Fite (the main Rizin international broadcaster) from airing the fights. Since the fights will take place in the Bellator cage, even though they are "powered by Rizin," Bellator had the final say on how they were aired. Bellator disagreed, but that did not get us anywhere. We have since learned from one of the fighters fighting on the card that these postlims will be airing on the Bellator App.

That's interesting, but again, it's not likenone of this is on rizin's head. You asked how you can promote fights if nobody can see them. Bellator never promoted these fights. Rizin did. Rizin dropped the ball just as much by not getting their shit together when working with Bellator to ensure the promotion and airing of these fights. calling them "Bellator powered by rizin" was dumb. just have them on the same day as the NYE show, use the cage with their own logo, call it "Takada's dirty diaper" and then change the cage out for the ring in time for the evening show.

The postlims on Bellator Japan will be contested under Pride/Rizin rules, but they will still take place in the cage. At least that is what all the information presented to us has said, and that would presumably include the lone kickboxing match.

Yes, I get that. My premise is that they are Rizin fights, Rizin signed fighters, under Rizin rules. Cage or not, it’s a Rizin card.

It's a little disconcerting for Bellator to put on a big card, and get everything set up the way they have it. The cage, ramp for walkouts, video screen, commentary team, and all of the crew involved, and then once the Fedor fight is over, they would just bail and let Rizin take over? Rizin would have to use the whole of Bellator's infrastructure or replace it with their own, and the latter doesn't make a lot of sense. We're also hearing that the Rizin postlims will be on Bellator's Youtube page, so that makes me think they decided to just keep using the equipment as any rational organization would.
