I don't know if you're trolling or not, but this is really silly. There is no comparison between the amount of head trauma women take in combat sports versus what men do. Across her boxing, kickboxing, AND MMA careers, Holm has been knocked out a whopping 4 times. Moreover, a great many of her fights feature her receiving little to no damage whatsoever.
Anywho, there are (genuine) points to be made for both fighters in this rematch, and I'm not risking a huge amount with my bet, but yeah, a lot of these narratives are irrelevant or misleading.
Damn! There goes my 0.2u bet on a draw at +5500, the first such prop bet I've ever placed.
I'm not trolling. You also do realize there is something called sparring right? There are guys that have crumbled in their MMA careers but haven't "shown" a crazy amount of damage inside the cage. A PRIME example is Chris Weidman who looked pretty good up until Rockhold pounded him out...then what happened. Do you really think the 1x Rockhold beating fucked him up forever or was it accumulative, stuff we didn't see in sparring and never will (Chris wasn't even that old when this started to happen). There's also that Forrest Griffin story of getting KO'd in sparring and then fighting Anderson Silva and collapsing the way he did over a really weak punch thrown by Anderson.
These shots in the head they take are brutal. I can pull up some journals if you really want to read the real effects even a few hard hits can do to someone permanently.
exposure to blunt force trauma to your head = brain has trouble with the most basic motor skills + memory, reaction time..a plethora of issues. Head trauma can also fuck with your hormones which is a whole new world of fuck you to your body. It doesn't need to be those big KO shots to cause this kind of damage, it's just MUCH worse when it is from multiple KOs.
If you guys think this has ZERO effect on the performance of fighters, especially AGING fighters then okay. Can't convince everyone the earth isn't flat either.
