Reccomend me some country artists.

Here's a great song by Joshua Black Wilkins. He's got cool sounding voice.

For the past 4 years I've been choosing an artist or band and listening to their entire discography in order. I save all the songs I enjoy for future listening. A lot of the bands are out of my wheelhouse.

One category I really havent listened to much is Country. The only ones I've listened and enjoyed to are Johhny Cash, Hank Williams, Hank III and Dixie Chicks (no homo).

What are some artists/bands with good catalogs to check out. I really hate that save a horse ride a cowboy type crap though.
Marty Robbins crosses several genres within country, he’s got a ton of great songs.
For honky tonk style country I’d start with Ray price, Ernest tubb, and lefty frizzel.
For a smoother Nashville style my favorite is probably Jim reeves.
For Western swing style country you’ve got to check out bob wills, asleep at the wheel, Hank Thompson.

I don't know much about country but I've seen Billy Joe Shaver on Norm Macdonald show. Seems like a nice guy, has a few fingers missing

Someone already mentioned Alabama

Brooks & Dunn has a unique sound, they might not be for you

Reba has one of the most powerful female voices in country

Randy Travis

He sings my favorite song

Benjamin Tod

Using Again

Matt Hecklar w/ Benjamin Tod:

Merle Haggard, Lefty Frizzell, Loretta Lynn, George Jones, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, Tammy Wynette - can't go wrong with them. Also try Ray Charles (Modern Sounds of Country & Western), Elvis Costello (Almost Blue), Beck (Odelay), Bobby D. (Nashville Skyline).

Tyler Childers, if you can get over his awful Ginger Face

gotta say...at a time not too long ago where the sound of "country music" made me want to kick kittens, This track right here opened my eyes....and saved the kittens.
great track. love it

Ryan Bingham has a ton of good music.

A little on the southern rock side, but Whiskey Myers is legit.

At work, can't paste videos. I'm hooked on Cody Jinks, one of the few I can shuffle his whole catalog and find very few to skip.

Kinda like a more modern George Strait to me.

That banjo in your soul

This is what country music should be

Emmylou Harris has a catalogue going back to when I wasn't even born. I rarely listen to country these days, but when I do it's usually Emmylou Harris.

Listening to Harris always makes me feel grounded. Her voice, song selection & arrangements are impeccable.

Junior Brown
Uncle Tupelo (alt country)
Roy Clark
Buck Owens
George Jones
Conway Twitty
