William Knight looked shit to me in his last fight in Cage Fury I think it was, managed to get the W in the end but he looked like he'd regressed since his Contender Series fight if anything. I'm kind of shocked they're keeping looking at him and let the vastly superior Alex Polzzi go to Bellator.

Polizzi was a good pickup for Bellator, yeah. Totally agree. Knight last two fights have set him back for sure, he needs to win impressively here to get signed, for sure.

Tafon Nchukwi has got DWCS written all over him, agreed.

HWs.
I'm expecting something like a couple of TUF guys - Josh Parisian (12-3) and Justin Frazier (12-3), possibly fighting each other. Then maybe Hugo Cunha (5-0) who is very interesting (big Brazilian wrestler), Chad Johnson (6-1), a couple of others. There aren't too many N.American HWs who are ready for something like this at the moment to be honest, most DWCS level guys are from overseas which probably rules a lot of them out.

I saw Hugo Cunha on a Future FC show last year, looked like he had good potential and good wrestling, especially for a Brazilian.

Parisian I think is a bit of a can crusher personally, I think Frazier would beat him.

They might still get people in from overseas if they do it on Just Bleed island though.

Cunha looks a solid prospect. Put it this way, if he was American and:

6ft 4in
260lbs
Strong wrestler
Good BJJ

He'd be getting touted as future UFC HW champion. If he keeps improving and has a chin, who knows?

Yeah Parisian is a can-crusher but so is Frazier really, I think thats a coin-flip fight. I do suspect both will turn up on this season though!

I'd favour Frazier to win by taking him down and consistent heavy ground and pound, I think that's a very favourable style match-up for him, though I'm frequently wrong when betting so who knows.

Trying to think of other HWs they can use and jeez, HW is a wasteland.

If things are still crazy they can hold it on UFC island.

It'd have to be the island, yeah, because a lot of those confirmed so far are non-Americans which would rule out the Tachi Palace venue. Expecting a few more names to start coming out soon given that they're now confident enough to name a venue, that business will continue.

I heard Cole ferrell will be on it.....8-0 with 8 first round finishes

Cool, added him.

He seems a proper can-crusher so far, having checked his record. He is at least getting them out of there quickly, as he should if he's any good.

Combined opponent record is 13-34. Jesus

I know, DWCS is like TUF in that respect - guys can get in based on a flashy record, but that's part of the fun of me. When you see some 7-3 guy run riot on an unbeaten guy who has obviously never faced anything resembling adversity, yet, in his career!

If anyone else reading hears anything on the grapevine, chuck the names my way!

I trained with him 7 or 8 years ago when we were both amateurs. He had a lot of potential

Why not? How are female fighters any less deserving of coverage? I mean, it's not like articles will keep men's and women's MMA separate, so it's all contained in the same series of articles as found on places like Junkie, so why make the strange decision to exclude women?

I have no interest in WMMA. Simple as that.
I will add them actually, makes sense, but I won't be looking into the fighters themselves - I just don't like watching WMMA sorry.

Thanks man, both added.

Ashimov is the latest Kazakh the UFC have sniffed around then - seems a pretty big flyweight at 5ft 7in.

At 20-0, you'd immediately suspect 'can-crusher' for Khusein Askhabov but that doesn't seem to be the case. Having had a look at the bantamweight's record, he's beaten some respectable competition so could well be one to keep tabs on.

Good to see an international flavour added to the DWCS again.

Some of Askhabov's better wins are against fighters like Desmae who aren't that good. I'd like to see him tested against better comp and this is a good opportunity to for that. I certainly think Rustam Kerimov is the best Russian BW prospect, but I imagine he'd get straight onto the roster.

Haha yeah you can say that again. Like expecting to see Douglas Lima on DWCS against some 7-2 dude from Missouri!
