Top Boxer Win1

Hi Folks - I am a beginner and want to get my first gloves for heavy bag workout. Which ones should I order? Alien or Win1 for heavy bag?
or should I go for custom to get extra protection. I weigh 204 lbs.
Thanks in advance!

I have the Alien in 14oz and other then needing a long breaking periode (aka lots of rounds to soften hem up), I find them to be very protective. Maybe 16oz would be better for you. I weight 190lb.

Personally would NOT recommend 16oz win1 in heavy bag too soft for my taste but great sparring glove

Hi,
What s your hand size btw?

Hi guys,

I’m about to start training again after injuring my wrist in feb this year. I previously used reyes and Hayabusa gloves depending on what I was training. However, both of which put my hands on odd positions, ultimately wrecking my wrist. I’m thinking of going with Top Boxers Win1 16oz lace Ups for getting back into training (bag and mitt work). What is everyone’s opinion on the wrist support of the win1’s? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Sorry but I can’t see how the Reyes would have wrecked your wrist their Velcro have some of the best wrist support going

that’s what I thought the case was too, hence why I bought them. Just turns out they weren’t the gloves for me. I hit a bag with them one day during training and ended up getting a TFCC injury.

Any thoughts on the lace up win1’s?

I never had the lace up I had 16oz win1 in Velcro but they wasn’t my favourite glove for bags and pads as found the padding too soft. I think it’s harder now though than when I had mine.

was your Reyes Velcro or lace up?

Ok, I had read that the 16oz was firmer than the 12/14s. Wasn’t sure if that was the case

My reyes gloves were Velcro.

Maybe try some lace up Reyes or another Mexican glove. The win1 padding in 16 used to be a lot softer than 12/14 making it great for sparring but less so on the bag but this could have changed

Maybe the pocket in the reyes was too big...Good wrist support but a glove thats too roomy can cause wrist issues still.

Maybe try the fairtex mexican style. They're supposed to be snug as anything, solid gloves for bags/pads but also have good wrist support.

I have the Topboxer Win1 and love them. Only time I use them on the bag is after sparring. I take off my headgear and go straight to the nearest heavy bag and get 5-8 rounds depending on how many rounds I sparred. The padding is very plush. I primarily use them for sparring for that reason. I am an older boxer and needed the wrist support so I ordered a triple cuff. Here are some photos of my gloves:

I hadn’t thought of fairtex, I might give those a look too. The reyes gloves fit well around the hand, just put my wrist in a weird position

They look awesome! Definitely liking the longer cuff. Has there been much wear down of the padding from the bag work?

None. The padding is exceptional on these. I also have other pairs of Topboxer. I have a pair of Alien gloves and the Flores gloves. The padding on the Alien is great too, probably more suited to bag work since its slightly denser. However, the Flores gloves are way too soft to use on the bag on a regular basis. The gloves in the photo are custom as is my Alien gloves. The Flores are stock.

Too easy, that’s exactly what I was looking for.

I have Topboxer Win1's in lace-up and velcro 16oz, along with Alien 14oz velcro. I would go with the Aliens for bag work as the Win1's are too soft. No complaints in regards to wrist protection for either the Win1's/Aliens.
