Have any of you guys used a wobble or balance board to help with your balance or awareness for boxing or muay thai? And if so, were the improvements noticeable? Thank you.

Unstable training is going to make you good at standing on unstable surfaces. From the research I've seen there's limited carryover to sports/athletics that take place on a firm and even surface.

If you're looking to improve proprioception and positional awareness then gymnastics seem like a better use of time. When you see guys cross over to BJJ from things like BMX, surfing, or breakdancing where balance plays a huge roll they tend to excel mostly because they've been spending most of their lives moving their bodies in really complicated, dynamic ways.....it isn't just the balance portion that gives them an edge. They've already built up those pathways for movement so other sports just become an extension of that.

A lot of NFL receivers in the past have trained ballet. Usyk employs juggling as part of his boxing training. There's something to be said for cross training in other skilled activities, but for the average hobbyist the payoff might be marginal. Probably best to hone your Mauy Thai and boxing skills by focusing on that. But give it a shot if you want. Learn some cool party tricks and report back with how your boxing training has been going.

If you arent rehabbing its useless. Post above hit exactly what i came to say.

Aside from gymnastics, a tape clock/star excursion exercise can be added to your warm ups if you want.
