Whose music would you save?

I like some of Prince songs but I'm a huge fan of MJ though.

The ladies like Prince and he was from mn. Have to go with him.

Michael Jackson was probably a slightly better performer, but prince was a genius. Could write, play and sing. I’d take prince for sure. Mj was groomed from a young age to perform, was a legend. Two of the best of our time for sure.

Michael Jackson has better songs but Prince was the better musician.

Is thjs serious?

I've never understood Prince. Purple Rain=great song. Superbowl and live performances=Great! Albums and other singles=mostly garbage. Maybe I've missed the good stuff somewhere, I don't know.

I'm not the biggest MJ fan but he's got like 30 jams.

Prince has a run from Dirty Mind-Sign O the Times that are all absolutely fucking classics.

The "I don't understand prince" crowd haven't listened deeply to him. ANd I don't even mean the "Deep cuts" because Dirty Mind-Sign O the Times are his most successful albums.

Both have produced some of my absolute fave songs, but if it's a question of saving one's work over the other, MJ's going over a cliff.

Prince all day.

Prince deserves a lot of cred for being a multi-instrumentalist virtuoso.

That solo makes my panties wet.

Prince if I had to choose.

Prince was banging some hot chicks and had them throwing themselves at him he was only 5 foot 1, while MJ was reclusive and creepy with the skin bleaching and plastic surgery.

Prince also wrote some good hits for other artists like sinead o connors only hit nothing compares.

I listen to Minnesota AM radio and after Prince died the amount of normal every day people like waitresses, retail store clerks, etc that would call in and talk about their interactions were just amazing. The guy genuinely had a heart of gold.
I remember one story about whenever he went on tour, he always paid for everyone's food after the concert. One time he went in his limo with a car load of girls to pick up the food. When they got there, he gave every worker $100 but they didn't have room for the food and the girls. One had to go, and it was the girls. He kicked them to the curb.

Prince's version that they released after his death is just, oof, right in the feels.

How old are you? Prince back in the day was pushing boundaries that people today wouldn't even bat an eye at while MJ played it pretty safe.

I'm about the same age as you. I didn't like Prince growing up, then one day it clicked and he's become one of my favorite artists.

Lol I just learned to day that Prince wrote and first recorded this song. I only previously knew it as a Tom Jones song.

different strokes for different folks. Prince is the Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson is the Beatles.

when doves cry. this was the kind of song where you went what the hell? like when guns n roses welcome to the jungle came out. like when you heard nirvana for the first time

this album has a ton of hits, lets go crazy, purple rain, i would die for you, hell even take me with you, darling niki (cuz it was naughty).

then comes raspberry beret, and after that, i feel he dropped off. yeah i did like sign o' the times and even bouhgt the cassingle for alphabet street. the batman album is pretty funky - the first cd i ever bought. (if a man can be considered guilty for what goes on in his mind give me the electric chair for all my future crimes)

have you listened to Musicology?

Been watching this lots of times for the past few months.

It looks like he was miming for the first (yellow) guitar part but actually playing for the second (aqua/blue). Can someone confirm?

When Prince entered the party it was his party. It was his room.

Nothing against MJ, but Prince music is much more appealing to me.
