Not going to lie. Watching reaction videos on YouTube is a small guilty pleasure of mine. There’s something heartwarming about seeing people discover Metallica for the first time.

I can’t stand YouTube reaction videos.

Especially when it’s billed as “Hip-hop head listens to Metallica for the first time” or vice-versa.

It’s low-hanging fruit content which caters to an adolescent mentality that thrives on “converting” people to their tribal listening preferences.

The channel creators are well aware of this too and are; therefore, rarely critical of their “newfound listening pleasures” as that would alienate their audience.

Once in a blue moon you see one that connects. Like someone legitimately experiencing something you love for the first time and gettign it and enjoying it, or someone processing someting and trying to understand it and going on that journey.

I loved watching this guy experience Freebird and really get it and enjoy it.

I've seen a bunch of these. Good way for black and white folks to get to know each or her, rationally chat without it involving violence and derogatory comments. Very unique atmosphere for youtube.

I can actually read the comments without getting a sinking feeling in my stomach. Listen to some cool tunes, person can make a few bucks.
