When your back is on the cage and Khabib has your legs trapped in between his own legs, what are you supposed to do?

It looks uncomfortable to have your legs straightened out and lifted up like that.

Khabib did this to Conor and Gaethje.

Wrapping up the legs like is a common tactic against the cage, though Khabib of course is one of the best to ever do it.

There are a lot of words one can use talking about the matter, that at the end of the day basically boils down to a simple concept; your fight is to pull your legs back, to build your base up, and his fight is to pull your legs out, to stop you from doing that; go have at it and see who prepared better.

Its a tough position, but hips and a whizzer would be a good start, I'd say.

Don’t fight anymore but I’d think trying to pull butterfly hooks and then using them to force a standup might work. Or butterfly to x guard since he’s probably going to be right over you. Def gonna eat some shots in the process but at least in the end you’re out vs being stuck and taking repeated shots.

Would be so interesting to see how BJJ specialists like Marcelo or Maia would deal with that position.

Wish there was footage of Khabib rolling against high level bjj specialists.

There's a video recently of Ryan Hall saying once he takes you down, relax and try to get a guard. Obviously easier said than done but it makes sense rather than trying to escape which doesn't work. He said McGregor was doing it well for a while but still it's incredibly difficult. I actually like to pass like Khabib at times, but without a cage/wall, the opponent can often snake and frame to escape.

I think cruz has a video on it. But basically you have to fall to your back. Staying on the cage when you’re fully locked in is delaying the inevitable.

Obviously if you have some space and can get a leg free that would be much easier and ideal
