pleasantly surprised by that and it might be my favorite BP release.

hate being negative about this stuff, but it's disappointing that a group with such a strong japan connection keeps putting out lackluster japanese tracks. the MV here is great, but the vocals sound really poorly mixed and they're not the strongest group vocally to begin with. i'm a big fan of theirs but aside from Suki to Iwasetai their japanese singles have all felt like the typical afterthought.

much better is Sakura's hilariously titled b-side Yummy Summer which brings some great, fun energy:

i read that the makeup team that did their zombie makeup was also the team for the Netflix show Kingdom. i'm very biased and love the whole thing, but their zombie-style choreo seems objectively impressive.

I'm not too active lately bu back to say really pumped for the Twice comeback on Monday. The 16 second teaser was so so cool sounding to me. Really excited.


Can't wait for it.

Also kind of shocked about the stuff I was reading about Irene this last day or 2. I's really a character I wouldn't have thought she would have or would at least be careful to protect it being from such a famous group and company. Her career may be in real trouble at this point. I don't think the situation is non recoverable u it'll take work and an attitude change to win public trust again.

Yeah something like the Jimin scanal wasn't as big news in Korea since Irene is an a-lister from a top group and maybe in 2014, 15 and 16 it would have been way way bigger for Jimin but by 2020 the star had faded and if we're honest the group wasn't making a huge lot of cash for FNC so I can see why it has ended AOA, I suppose for them it's better to distance Seolhyun from the issue as she's still a money maker.
So that could be hopeful for Reveluv, since Red Velvet are still a top group and Irene is a major major star so while that has blown the issue into a national scandal I think if the laylow for the rest of the year and Irene silently does some ground work with charities, animal shelters, etc and as time passes I think people will look at it a bit clearer. Right now the stories are that she's a bully, abusive, nasty, etc...but when you read into them more it just appears more like she is a diva and has a ego that needs checking...sure that's still bad, but enough to wipe out 6-7 years of her work in Kpop? Enough to write off her and potentially Red Velvets career? Surely not, the punishment doesn't fit the crime at all.

My only real concern is SM. They make so so much money from many pies in Korea and RV are a blip on their financial statement each quarter, especially with how NCT have been killing it lately. This to me gives me vibes of the witch hunt netizens and the media led against Sulli years back and drove her out of F(x) and even tho SM kept them signed, when their image was damaged they were practically dungeoned from that point.

yeah i think AOA was trying to get some momentum and have a mini-comeback after Queendom, but i don't think it was going to go too far and it was pretty much all downhill after ChoA left.

and yeah, sounds like SM is getting ready to debut another girl group as well which could mean RV get less attention and are easier to set aside for a while.

great stuff from Twice. The MV is great as always and i love the synth. fantastic chorus as well.

same old minor quibble of Dahyun and Chaeyoung's rap verses feeling out of place (particularly the English), but glad to hear Momo rap. i think aside from checking a box there's no need for those rap verses and Dahyun and Chaeyoung are both more than capable of melodic verses that match the rest of the tone of the track as they do elsewhere.
