Although i am an 80's kid i NEVER owned an NES. My father loved video games, but he said an NES was too much money. I accepted that, but every kid i knew had one. I played it alot at my cousin's house though.
Me and my cousin would sneak play it in the living room when his parents were asleep. We did that ALL the time and they NEVER caught us. Those nights playing Super mario 3 at 3 am were some of the best times of my childhood.
My first actual console was a Gameboy when it came out in 1989.
Most played game: Either Tetris or Supermario, pretty predictable. I liked the mega man games on it alot too
Then an SNES in 1993,which really was a game changer.
Most played game: this is really hard to answer. SMW,FF3,SMAllstars,Link to the past...
I picked up a Sega master system around that time for really cheap.
I played space harrier, and alex kidd in miracle world on this.
I picked up a Virtual Boy for like $30 when it was clear that system was dead. Bought most of the games, and would over the years trade it to and from my cousin. I dont know where it ended up but i dont have it anymore.
Got a N64 in 1997 shortly after it was released in the US. Playing Super Mario 64 was like going to a new dimension. The thq wrestling games,Goldeneye/Perfect Dark are the motherfukin jams
Picked up a playstation that same year.... I had brought my n64 and GOLDENEYE over a party for the lads to play and they refused to let me take it home cos it was such a great party game. So we agreed id borrow their playstation and FF7 and i loved that game so much i had to get a ps1
Resident Evil 2,Silent Hill,Castlevania SOTN,Soul Blade,SF alpha 3,Metal gear were the motherfuckin shit
I found a chinese place that would burn any new PS1 game for $15. So I got to play all sorts of new games for cheap and also japanese titles not released here. I even got Thrill Kill from these fuckers, remember that??
Got a Dreamcast....and of course we all know what happened there. had a connect who could burn discs for it too though...and you could get it to play porn mpgs,i remember that. in 2000-2001 that was fuckin cool.
House of the dead, ecco the dolphin, soul calibur..some of these were showing that home games were starting to beat the arcade master race
I think i took a good 5 years off from buying any new systems...I think i didnt get a ps2 until 2005..so's I could play the new GTA titles. My time as a gamer was starting to grow thin. I was really into partying and NOT into staying home, and preferred to watch movies than playing games anymore. Around this time i had a PSP which was modded for my pleasure. Got alot out of that thing till someone stepped on it,and screen got fucked up. I ran into serious financial issues at that time and never replaced it. Also had to sell my nintendo DS in that period.
God of war games were the ultimate on that system. The Metal gear games, etc
GTA 4 convinced me in 2008 to get a Xbox 360,and That system would be the last one i would buy for 11 years. I did end up buying a ps3 for like 30 bucks in 2015 but i didnt end up using it much. Collecting dust somewhere. I again fell into a lapse of not playing much until...
I ended up inheriting a Xbox one last year, and dove headfirst back into gaming, and picked up a switch in my deep fuckin dive.
