UFC FN 184 PBP/Discussion

Just need the main event to start r2.

I was strongly considering pulling the trigger on Marques as well as Guida and ultimately was scared off for certain reasons, but they had very obvious appeal as underdogs.

However, I was scratching my head at why anyone would play a 39 year-old Edgar against an elite talent and matchup nightmare like Sandhagen who is absurdly difficult to take and keep down. I at least wanted to put a little money where my mouth was.
i considered live betting edgar IF for some reason cory was getting wrestle fucked but yeah I thankfully passed. congrats on the win!

Repeat his Yair Rodriguez performance? Coming off an incredible war against Munhoz?

Don't regret my frankie play at all. Also had not sandhagen decision at evens.

Damn :(. Edgar still might be still be good but that’s gonna put him more than a few fights out from another title shot. Gotta question why he’d still do it.

i went on volkov to win via dec or ko at -138, also round 3 to 5 props. just hoping for this fight to go late instead of quick finish.

FDGTD maybe?

If reem gets him to the ground you know some nasty gnp is coming. Overeem won't last 5 if volkov touches him

Rip frankie
He still my boy

Happy for corey, he's also great

Both define "real fighter". Stylistically different, but extremely similar in how they approach the sport.

volkov isn't a fish on the ground, he survived and got up from 14 blayde takedowns over 5 rounds and he had the guard to stop werdum from abusing him. Reem cardio not good enough to go multiple takedowns over 5 rounds too, feel like he has a small window for this approach.

So FDGTD indeed?

The Rodriguez fight was 4 years ago, ancient history, and Sandhagen is 5 times the grappler the Mexican is, AND has better striking. As for Munhoz, that was a brilliant performance by Edgar (although I thought Munhoz clearly won 3 rounds to 2), but Sandhagen is a much smarter fighter who is far more difficult to hit.

I compared this fight to Edgar against Holloway, very much an off-night for Max, at a slower weight class, when Edgar was at least slightly better, but never really had a chance.

@PuertoRican

One of my 3 lineups for the $10 buy in late slate will have the correct 6 guys if Volkov wins but I have Smith in the captain's spot instead of Sandhagen. Ugh.

You might win big since Sandhagen was too expensive.

I was stubborn and would have a winning team if I didn't have Ferreira in all of my teams. I took a stand and faded Dariush.

Overeem by submission at +1200 looks kinda tempting, but probably won't happen.
