UFC FN 184 PBP/Discussion

I looked. There's lineups with Sandhagen as captain, then Guida, Marquez, Smith, Volkov, Dariush. And there's at least one lineup that has Marquez as captain with the same 6 guys, and Marquez outscored Smith too.

Best I can do is tie for 3rd I think.
$14 DraftKings profit after all was said and done. I might've had a chance to win something good if I made the same teams with Dariush instead of only having CDF in them, but I took a stand on the guy who I thought would win.

Either way, it was a fun card as expected and I made profit on some last minute bets that saved my night.

I currently have $200 on Gilbert Burns +236. Not sure what else I like on next week's card.

Yeah. Pissed at myself a little. I considered Sandhagen as captain but really thought that Smith was more likely to finish in Rd 1. $1200 decision, ugh.

I kinda like Gilbert's chances too. Don't favor him or anything but he's a live dog.

I love the hindsight after a minefield card and pointing to everything saying, "Of course that happened"

Choi the rock, McCann the can, instructor Rosa, Valiev the lock, wrestler Dariush, little fish Kape, superman Sandhagen and Overeem the plodding, low output, no urgency, 40 year old turtle..

And Guida catching Johnson several times was just good fun

Kape is just gonna be the kind of guy who's infuriating to watch. Clearly talented but more interested in dancing and showmanship than in fighting.

Biggest bet of the card for me was Pantoja, but that was still so frustrating to watch. That had the potential to be a really good fight if Kape would have engaged. I think Pantoja would have got him down though and subbed him. Kape was trying to go for the late takedowns too. It was such a clear "try to not lose" strategy rather than trying to actually win. Probably lost a lot of potential fans last night.

Yeah it was a bad performance by Kape. Not sure whether it was bad fight IQ or just inability to take risks when losing. Like did he actually think he won?
