UFC 261: Usman vs Masvidal 2 official thread

You probably mean Crute, right?

I got these so far. Crute is going to force a firefight and Smith will oblige.

I like the over and crute decision. Both guys are tough enough and competent on the ground.

I'm guessing Sekulic is really horrible?

Because how is a 36 year old that just got KO'ed, got COVID and already has a bad gas tank open at -300?

Danho and Penne won after 4 years. 3 years for Sekulic.

This week we come with offer of honey. Bout time to start making this MoNey!!!!

FGTD or Sekulic Dec seem like value to me. Grant has the power edge while Sekulic has the cardio and wrestling. Seems like a low volume Dec type of fight as both have low output and won't force anything.

I don't like this card for betting so I'm trying to think outside the box for some small value plays.

Early in the Usman-Burns fight, Burns got a couple licks in on Usman before the tide turned. I remember watching thinking that Usman could be in trouble.

Any chance Jorge has similar success? And if he lands, will it be enough to make Usman do the chicken dance? I think Usman is amazing but his stand-up isn't the most fluid.

Masvidal by stoppage at 5.50 to 1 currently...I dunno...I've seen crazier things happen.
I think if Jorge had the moment that Burns had, he very likely puts Usman away. Burns faded hard after a hot start, wasn't too surprising. My mind is telling me Usman easily beats Jorge again. I don't think Jorge is some world beater because of the nice win streak he had, but he still has a lot of tools. But his takedown defence a

But for some reason there is a part of me that thinks Usman might be upset here.

I say that because weili hasn’t shown the greatest chin. She’s been dropped in multiple fights and rose can crack. Not to mention the club and sub will be at play. Weili hasn’t had to deal with someone with the jiu jitsu the caliber of roses
who dropped her?

Someone please talk me out of parlaying
Zhang
Schevchenko
Usman
+118
700 to win 826

I bet Rose, imo she is a bad matchup for Zhang.
Remember that Zhang got rocked by bum Daniele Taylor and Rose knocked down JJ and Andrade with pure punching power

Good point on the covid as well i mean dispute Sekulic short record of fights. He still has some grappling skills judging from his record if anything i would problary take a risk for sub line by Sekulic if Grant doesn't finish the fight in the first round.

Whoops. Yeah, Crute.

Between parlays, a straight bet, and his KO prop I have about $350 riding on him, and will probably add more.

I think Smith is shot, and was never that good. He had a career resurgence that was centered around beating washed vets of the sport that cumilitated in a title shot he did absolutely nothing with.

I made a lot of money on Glover/Smith, Rakic/Smith, and will more than likely do the same this weekend with Crute.

I already knew Andrade hit hard, but coming from Rose who has fought Andrade and trained with Valentina, small confidence increase.

I'm probably still the only one on here on her(94% of the public is on Valentina).

Anthony Smith just seems like one of those guys that you never know what you’ll get on fight night.

KOs old Rashad and Shogun in the first, chokes out Oezdemir in the 3rd... Does fuck all against Jones in a title fight...

Chokes out Gustafsson in the 4th round, in front of Gus’ home crowd. Looks like a world beater early against old man Teixeira, starts slowing down and getting tagged hard and beaten so bad he was spitting his teeth out in between getting punched to the face.

Gets leg kicked to oblivion and LNP’d by Rakic. Taps out Devin Clark in the first.

<{vega}>

I wouldn’t bet on this one. Maybe under 1,5 rounds? Then again, Smith is pretty resilient and has prowed he can survive five round in a fetal position if needed.

No doubt Andrade hits hard, that’s pretty clear at this point. The question is can Andrade land clean on Shevchenko. Shev has very good defense and excellent foot work. She’s aware of what’s going on in the octagon every moment and she’ll see Andrade’s attacks coming from a mile away.

There’s always chance for the upset, especially with that kind of power, but I won’t be surprised at all to see Andrade walk forward while getting tagged over and over again while being unable to land anything meaningful

Andrade is a dog that will fight for your money. If she gets countered coming in and gets knocked out, it wont be completely unexpected. But Schev loves to just sit there and let her opponents crash into her, which is a risky way to fight against Andrade(and vice versa).

Schev hasn't fought anyone close to the same level of competition as Andrade though, at least not since Nunes(who I think is overrated as fuck, but that's a story for another day).

Andrade is only 29, and has the tools to win this fight. She's relentless, will constantly move forward and take 3 to give 1, and will try to overpower Schev in the clinch/via TD's.

I don't think she can do anything meaningful in top position, but making Schev think about the TD's will present openings on the feet.

I just have a strong feeling this fight is going to be A LOT closer than most people expect.

I wish DK/FD/WH offered +5.5 props like 5dimes used to do. I can see Andrade winning at least 2 rounds off of clinch control/takedowns.

Thought I'd be all over Crute and Zhang going into tape but I can't bet either. I think they both probably win but their lines are wide. Crute is gassy as the fight goes on and still very green. Zhang has good pressure and looks to be powerful, love her body and leg kicks but she still does a few things that Rose can exploit, enters the pocket with her hands down or swinging a hook and gets countered and knocked off her feet. She also throws way to many spinning kicks, occasionally they land and look powerful but the majority of the time she's just kicking air and wasting energy and exposing herself again.

I think she has looked improved fight to fight but Rose beat a better version of JJ, twice

And don’t see any reason why shev can’t replicate what Johanna did to Andrade. Shev is a bad matchup for her

Speaking of Rose, I don't know what the fuck is going on with her mentally.

I've been subscribed to her YT channel since like 2016, and the past 4 months, once or twice a week, she gets on YT, goes live, and says a prayer/reads scripture.

I know she's always been religious, but it seems she's embraced christianity more so now than in her past.

I have nothing against religion, I just find it rather odd when I see her preaching every Sunday on YouTube.

And don’t see any reason why shev can’t replicate what Johanna did to Andrade.

Andrade was 24 in that fight, and JJ was in her absolute, pre boob job prime.

I think JJ had already lost a lot of motivation when she moved up to 125(and her fight with Valentina was closer than I remember it when I watched it back).
