UFC FIGHT NIGHT: REYES VS. PROCHAZKA Offical discussion

I think when props open the under 2.5 in the Jiri/Reyes fight is the play or the 'ends in KO' prop. Jiri will just force that fight out of Reyes, he starts fast and it's all pressure with little concern to what's coming and at him, unless he changes his whole approach from his last 6/7 fights he will be forcing wild exchanges until someone gets finished, a real kill or be killed fighter.

Either Jiri lands the bomb or Reyes lands the straight counter and takes him out, I actually think even though Jiri is a wild man and does a lot of strange things in there he's probably very hard to gameplan for because no one else is really doing what he does, so recklessly.

Should be exciting while lasts but I don't think it lasts long.

Kamaka/Brown

Kamaka has all the makings of a good prospect.. For a round and a half, the drop off is noticeable. I think a big part of the problem is just his pacing, very high volume in round one, usually does good damage and can even stun and drop guys but the finish isn't there and then he's just gradually slowing over the next two rounds. Clear areas to work on, obviously the gas, his striking defence isn't great - he tends to drop his hands after exchanges and as he exits the pocket and this gets way more exploitable as the rounds go on. He has the right ideas in place though, he generally will exchange and then clinch and push to the cage when his opponent starts to fire back, but again as he slows he starts to go more and more to either the high guard or the clich and takes more and more damage there. Good combinations, finishes everything with a kick to the body or leg, good kicks up the middle, good body work generally, especially when he is fresh in the clinches, times takedowns well against the cage too and uses them to create some breathing space but really doesn't have a top game at all, but I'm knit picking.

I think Brown is pretty sub or bust here, Kamaka should school him standing and Brown seems to get stunned or dropped most fights, I don't think he has a threatening enough striking game to push Kamaka back so he's likely going to be fighting on the back foot the majority of the time making it harder for him to shoot, got his legs chewed up by Chavez and probably goes again here along with getting worked to the body. Brown is going to be relying on surviving early, and going to the third and putting the pressure on there, seems like a fairly narrow path and his offensive wrestling isn't good enough that he will be able to have early success with it, actually wouldn't be surprised to see Kamaka take him down and just sit in the guard at the end of rounds, not sure where Kamaka trains? But it seems like with the right coaching and camp he could fill some of those holes and really have a pretty decent all round game.

Personally bet Kamaka at 1.57 for 3 units.

900$ on Prozachka, the guy is a madman, 5 rounds also favour him, i don't think Reyes can deal with such a machine.

I'm just gonna ride with Strickland until he fights someone decent. I can't imagine him losing to Jotko. I think it's safe to say that Strickland wins this fight 70% of the time or better.

On giga. dude is cracking the top 10 soon, along with topuria. FDGTD, KO prop in the main is also a great play (i think jiri gets the ko in the first couple of rds but reyes can def catch him too). merab and strickland i think both win but i'd like to have more of an edge, especially on strickland.

Strickland is just criminally underrated imo. He's not world champ caliber, but he's really good.

Already have a futures parlay with Strickland -245/Giga -200/Merab -205/Proz -120

Pretty sure the line will move on all of these, I missed Proz early, I think he opened @ +money, don't feel like checking rn

Have merab and lookboonme in giant parlay I made long time ago. Might be an opportunity to fade that clown luke sanders too. Fan of jiri may play him as well.

Wow, this forum is an absolute wasteland all because one dude who had hot picks left...

I think the matchmakers despise dominick Reyes as much as I do. Not a boring fighter in the octagon, but he is seriously one of the worst “high ranked” fighters to open his mouth.
