As for the original question I think you could be right if you'd made the argument about Brazil or Russia, but definitely not Japan.
When I read this I can only imagine this gay yelling "hard work, dedication"Americans are not inherently superior, no matter where they fight or what the promotion is.
It's all about:
1)hard work,
2)dedication/strategy
and also
3)little help from genetics(brain+body) in certain situations/fights.
Log off ChaelPride was. But it was completely overrated, look at what happened when Cro Cop, Wanderlei came to the UFC. Fedor sucks in the USA. The Referee wears an earpiece
... Would the roster be dominated by Americans, as it's now?
A friend of mine thinks the reason Americans are dominating the roster is because they are the best in MMA, best gyms, best trainers, etc...
But is it not because the UFC is an American company that found it's popularity in the US?
If the UFC was, say, a Japanese company with the same level of it's current popularity, then I bet the majority of fighters would be Japanese, and Americans would be a minority
TL;DR: American dominance in MMA is due to UFC's popularity as entertainment, not that Americans are inherently superior fighters/have the best infastructure
There are only two american champions, stipe and usman. Hardly dominated by americans although lw might have an american soon if oliveira fails to beat either poirier, gaethje or chandlerAre there any American champions right now? I wouldn't say UFC/MMA is dominated by Americans.
That's Yuki Kondo in that gif. Hardly a can.Yeah it was called Pride, and it had majority Japanese fighters/cans. Because of that pride gave us glorious fights of Wanderlei Silva massacring Japanese professional wrestlers
That's definitely not Mad Max. Just looking at that, it's clear as day.
what if scenarios to this extent bothered me.... Would the roster be dominated by Americans, as it's now?

Usman doesn't want to be a Yank anymore. He apparently wanted it when he was in OPTC, but no more. Now he's NigerianThere are only two american champions, stipe and usman.
