Tony Ferguson expresses frustrations about not getting title-shot during 12 fight win streak.

he is over rated with a padded record.
With names like pettis ... journeyman and everyone acting like they wee killers

Pretty sure Pettis Ko'd Wonderboy all on his own,
and possibly ... won a UFC title.

Don't quote me though

im sad to say i think his window to be champ has passed,

but i think at his best he was one of the best LWs ever.
He is 37 and Father Time eventually catches up with anyone.

I’m rooting for Tony as he is such an original and so tough and extreme in his approach.

One of the most creative and unpredictable guys ever.
Best of luck to you Tony!

At this stage in their careers both are journeymen fighting for paychecks and not title aspirations.

Pettis was once a champ.
And cowboy was once a top contender.
Cowboy was never a top contender. Minor Contender once sure, but nobody thought he could win and defend the thing. He always choked in important matches. He's Dan Marino without the flashy stats. Good in the regular season, choked in the big games.

That being said, he is a fighters fighter, who loves fighting and fights as often as he can and could often get performance of the night bonuses. But calling him a gatekeeper is pretty accurate. Gatekeeper usually refers to someone who can beat 90% of his division, but not the elites. thus they become "that guy" who up and coming fighters test themselves on to get into the title picture.

That is Cerrone to a T

Pettis was LW champ, Cerrone has the most W's in UFC history and Kevin Lee was a top LW contender when they fought. Who exactly is Tony supposed to be fighting so his record isn't padded?
He is full of it. There was a long stretch were all his fights were essentially #1 contender fights. It is easy to say those guys were washed up after Tony beat them and they took a few more Ls in hindsight. When Tony fought them, they were the toughest fights.

"Nobody spoke up for me to get a title fight, 12 fights in the making. What did I do wrong?" Tony Ferguson expresses frustrations at his treatment during his time in the UFC and goes on a long rant about his last 8 years.

He says the fans like to paint him as a meme but feels lots of other fighters have followed what he is doing now. He says he was wearing suits and sunglasses before most people in the UFC.

There comes a time in everyone's life when they evaluate their past and try to find resolve in some things that seem unbalanced in fairness. I think he is justified in his emotions about all of this. He is/was a great fighter both in skill and entertainment factor ;)

They tried to make Tony-Khabib how many times? I don't think he can blame company for some sort of voodoo curse placed on that fight.

You filthy filthy casual. The only borderline journeyman there is cowboy and cowboy was more like a gatekeeper to top 10/top 5 at one point.

He was definitely a contender, and contenders are a step above gatekeepers for sure.

Yes. As I said, bottom rung contender. No chance at winning and defending the thing, but gets to the dance once in his career.

Not as highly regarded as a contender with a true chance of victory. Not considered "a champ, it's just a matter of time"

Well Tony didn't have the best luck in his career, I think in his prime he would have been marketable as much as anybody. Khabib also didn't have the best luck with injuries and it took him forever to get the belt.

Tony Ferguson is crazy, his wife wanted to divorce him

Yeah, 37 is that cut off age. I seen a constant pattern of a turning point at that time.

Wish all our best talented fighters started very young. But maybe their bodies would just give out at an earlier age? Of course that all depends on the wars they were in.

Randy Couture, it was amazing how long he lasted with such a late start.

Tony really screwed up when he took that Gaethje fight, it's been downhill since there. He looks 60 years old now

there was conor who hold the division like a diva than there was this cabel.

Couture didn't have the years of getting hit in the head. Yes, I am aware of his amateur boxing.
