I messed up on today's run, which was meant to be 5 miles: I had come off a night shift, came home, had some eggs on toast and thought I'd be good to go for my run in a couple of hours' time. Set off for my run at a nice comfortable pace, and a mile in, I desperately needed the toilet. I managed to run 3 miles and then had to slowly and awkwardly walk the final 2 miles home, as I was going to have a rather unfortunate accident.
Luckily I made it home in time, disappointed that I had to bail out at the 3 mile mark, but I didn't really want to have to face what would have happened if I'd continued running!
Lesson learned regarding food timing, won't be doing that again!
