Seeing hoes dancing like they gotta take a dump right now is shitty music. You can't listen to it. Rap music is for angry people who never learned how to play an instrument. Country music is warbling guitars and annoying singers who moan about some girl hoe or man hoe who left them. That or their dog died. Metal is like a car wreck. No joy in that. Probably the only tolerable genre in 60-80s pop. When people actually could write a tune that made sense and sounded musical. The rest of music is shit. Am I right?

I'm at a point where the genre doesn't matter as long as the song is good.

But I tend to hear the fewest good songs from Christian music, followed by country, followed by bagpipes.

After that, it's all about even.

Classic rock and classic hard rock are still the best genres. The most iconic bands are rock and roll bands like Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Queen, The Doors, AC/DC and so many others.

If only we had a music section called the jukebox.....oh wait lol

The answer is metal. Specifically progressive and power metal.

The worst 2 genres are country and rap.

When it comes to music I don't really think there is a common consensus

I can tell already that 1 I don't think you have a clue what you are talking about and don't listen to any indy music and that 2 you would likely hate everything I really like

Like this is the number one song in my playlist at the moment. My guess is that you dont like it at all and think it's ear rape

I only listen to Larry June, hes his own genre

Power Metal is the most powerful of all metal.

There is no best since it's highly subjective and personal preference. No reason to rank various genres. Although I know quite a bit about hip hop (especially non-mainstream hip hop from the 90s up until the mid 2000s), all types of genres tickle my fancy.

“Progressive” anything is obnoxious.

It’s basically geek rockers who change time and key signatures a million times a song just to say they did.
Nah. Most of it is just influenced by classical music. Which historically has stood the test of time.

But it's not for everyone.

Dream theater is heavily influenced by rachmaninoff

Iron maiden is considered one of the greatest progressive metal bands of all time and blows the shit out of anything modern

And I loved Dream Theater up until a certain point when they traded soulful songs for masturbatory math.

Sounds like when portnoy left and the band lost its main creative driver

The addition of Jordan Rudess changed something.

Metropolis Pt. 2 is the last album I could stomach and even that one took a little time to grow on me.

Their self titled album is the one I checked out on, but the one before that was clearly lacking portnoy.

Images and words was their best album before metropolis 2. The others were a lot of hit or miss. The albums after metropolis were gold for awhile.

Till portnoy left

Falling into Infinity is still their worst album

I do like a lot of different music, but my heart is in Hard Rock, Metal, Hair Metal, Classic Rock. I was a little kid in the 70s and remember classic rock and In the 80s I lik=ved in a Black town so I listened to Afrikaa Bambatta, Run DMC, Fat Boys, Sugar Hill, Grandmaster Flash etc. Then in 7th grade dated an Army Brat who was a "headbanger". She gave me a Def Lep Pyromania album. I was hooked after that. Spent all my money on cassettes. Motley Crue, Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy, Van Halen, Whitesnake, Wasp, Metallica, Testament, Megadeath, Anthrax. Even Poison and Cinderella. I loved it all. 90s I ate up that scene, loved them all PJ, Nirvana, AIC, STP, SG...and later even Korn, Slipknot..Still do. Now im really into the Stones and stuff that reminds me of my childhood. I hate the music today except for the hard stuff. .
