Nobody said Gilmour is God
Y'all are a bunch of drug addicts
Funny you say that. Guess who the guitarist was on Roger Waters first solo album?Different styles. Neither could really take the other’s place in a band or on a project. They are each amazing at the style they play. If I had to choose, I’d say Clapton is better.
Clapton was? Was it good? I never heard the record; I like Floyd a lot but never dug into solo albums.Funny you say that. Guess who the guitarist was on Roger Waters first solo album?
It’s alright, but like most solo albums it’s lacking the greatness of the band.Clapton was? Was it good? I never heard the record; I like Floyd a lot but never dug into solo albums.
Clapton was the third best musician in CreamIt's like none of you have listened to Cream before.
Agreed. Making that guitar sing and creating immersive melodies is so important. Derek Trucks is a master at turning that guitar into a voiceDavid Gilmour, Chuck Schuldiner and Frank Zappa are my three favorite guitarists and the three biggest influences on my guitar playing. While I do enjoy Clapton's work it just bores me after awhile which is why I don't listen to Eric that much. Gilmour however I can listen to his solo and Pink Floyd material all the time and it never bores me at all. Dave is an absolute master of cadence, intonation, and pacing on the guitar. Through string- bending he is able to play the guitar like a person sings, giving it mood, passion, and life that is unmatched by many guitarists who can play faster or are even more technically advanced. To put it into perspective Gilmour uses his soul to play!
Shameless plug of my David Gilmour drawing I did back in 2018.
