Favorite Guitar Solo of All Time.

The first solo in Mr Crowley is my all-time favorite solo. It's brief but Randy really takes for you a ride on it. It almost has a frenetic feel to it on the album. But live, he kinda sits back into it, rhythmically speaking, and it has a different feel. I love both. The repeating patterns and sprint up the fret board still get me every time.

This has been a staple for me. Not sure if I time stamped it, but the 2nd solo starts shortly after 5.45

I don't think it is really possible to pick just one best solo, or for that matter, a lot of art. However, there are definitely a group of solos that stand above the rest. I will post a couple, because I love rock, and guitar solos, etc. Hendrix is definitely a master, and has at least one solo worthy of consideration. Here is one:

Always surprised and impressed with what an awesome guitarist Prince was.
He and EVH are Eamon's heroes. The majority of why we have so many guitars is Prince.
Prince was SUCH a talent and I'm so lucky I managed to snipe tickets in Vegas in a 1000 people club. I admired him loads but not my style of music. He was his own genre though, and I love that.

Gilmour on “Dogs”. No fancy shredding, just a tone and melodic direction that punches right thru your chest and molests your soul.

Good call on Sultans of Swing.

It isn't on tape that I know of, but on the Diver Down tour EVH's solo began with him racing across the stage playing the intro to Mean Streets. He'd get to the other side and jam for a minute, then race back the other way playing the Mean Streets intro again. Over and over. He finished by jumping off of Alex's drum stage and launched into Romeo's Delight. I think I came ...

Yeah thats without question my favorite I can never play it quite right and ive tried. Knopfler was so underrated. The painkiller and Tornado of souls are IMO the two best heavy metal solos. Facemelting but still with soul.

That would have been a riot to see EVH back then, especially if you had no prior knowledge as to how he did half the shit he did back then.

I saw them on everything after VH2. We had no smart phones and you couldn't smuggle the giant video cameras of the time past the gate, so you'd see the same guys in the front row at every show trying to figure out what the hell Edward was doing, especially the intro to Mean Streets. He was always cool to toss picks to you. To us he was fucking God.

Shit, I can't even pick my favorite solo by my favorite guitarist, Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Here's a fun one, though:

Timestamped to the start of the solo, but please stick around to the 12:30 mark, where SRV breaks a string while playing behind his back, gets a lighting quick guitar switch, and goes back behind his back with the new guitar like nothing happened. (Rene Martinez= GOAT guitar tech.)

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody, Brian May did a great solo!

Classic rock is great and all, but where are all the 90's kids??? Stamped.
