Paintings and drawings - post yours

Thank you so much for setting up the basics bro, you're a lifesaver.

No sweat bud, there are tons of good tutorials on Youtube for it so check them out. This one is really good for learning some of the features, it has lot's of things to make life easier for drawing and colouring stuff.

edit: didn't mean to time stamp it.

In honor of the jumping jacks that Nate's straight left made me do during UFC 263, I animated how the fight felt to me:

Of course, being a sucker for upsets, I may have exaggerated a bit, but I always wanted to animate a Diaz flurry, even if the real thing was way more muted due to Nate not realizing what he almost did, and Leon defending very well.

There's also a JBG in there;
Enjoy!

Dude these are all fucking awesome!

Thank you, I really appreciate that you viewed them;
Did this as a quickie before starting the actual UFC 264 video I'm planning:

Love it. Please tag me when you’ve got new epic content.

Excellent !

@Arqueto @kuf @Gabriel201 I'm thinking about buying a cheap graphic tablet and since you were talking about em I thought to ask: How much different is it from pencil and paper? Day and night? Can you draw on it as good as you do on paper (and the opposite)? Also, is it worth it if it's just for practice? I highly doubt that I'll make a full jump to digital drawing.

Presuming that by cheap graphic tablet you mean those black rectangular boards with no screen:

Its not too different, I wouldn't call it day and night by any stretch.
Your skills and mannerisms when drawing stay exactly the same and pretty much translate on the screen.

As you might expect though, you need to get used to looking at the screen instead of where your hand is.
With practice, it will become second nature, but undeniably, it's not as intuitive as drawing on paper. It's just a very very tolerable substitute.

You also need some form of program to draw on, and that requires a learning curve, whereas in traditional media, you just grab a pencil and go. So consider that in your choice. I use photoshop for raster (pixel based) graphics, although I hear that other programs such as Krita, Corel Painter, Clip Studio Pro, Sketchbook etc are better for pure illustrations.
There is also a site, https://www.photopea.com/ ,which has created AN EXACT clone of photoshop in browser form, since the interface and tools of photoshop were not subject to copyright.

Of course, drawing digitally offers many positives:
-You get to tinker with your drawing as much as you wish without turning the canvas into a dusty mess(or even ripping it, as can happen when using thin paper).
-Inking/coloring is infinitely faster and more dynamic than what you'd achieve with colored pencils.
-Layers: a game changer when it comes to composition: you can have sketch layers for rough drafts, layers where you create perspective grids,vanishing points and other helpful guides, and of course you can ink and color in layers separate from the original artwork, leaving it unblemished. Arguably layers are one of the main reasons for going digital.

My opinion: It's worth getting a cheap ass one, even if it's just for practice. It only expands your choices and options, and pencil and paper will always be there. If you are inclined to drawing, it can be a tool towards, well, more drawing.

Here's a simple helpful guide for what to look out for when comparing graphics tablets:

I started with the cheapest Wacom model in 2013 (around 60 bucks), but I think that today the market is way more competitive, with TONS of great brands at low price ranges.

This is really helpful, thank you very much!
What made me consider a tablet was that notebooks tend to fill quite fast while practicing. I was thinking that, with a tablet, my only limit will be my computer's free space (and also organizing my drawings is a good bonus) but now I wonder if those reasons are good enough to go for it. We'll see.

Once again, thank you!

Hello again artistically oriented sherbros, here to post my actual UFC 264 animation:

A short one for UFC 265, as I am also busy with designing an album cover these days.
Took a bunch of screenshots from the infamous embedded episode where mcGregor rips a photo of Aldo, the temptation to sihouette them was great, but I overtook it, since I count it as cheating (doesn't train any "eye" muscles).
The street coliseum was a great company while animating this over 2 days, lots of hair raising KOs to keep me alert.

LOL. Ole DW goes from elated to pissed in a matter of moments.

Would love to see the album cover when it's released.

Have a great weekend.
