I hate the current GR rules, there have been so many 1-1 matches that have ended on passivity points alone. It's like a stupid game; whoever gets the parterre in the second period wins.

Here are the first freestyle brackets - 57kg and 86kg:

Gilman vs. Uguev in the first round lmao. Gilman is getting put out, bad draw for him.

It's actually good, if he wins (doubtful), he is in a great position. If he loses, he's in a very good position to get pulled back in. Not a bad draw actually.

He lost in a competitive 5-4 match. He should get pulled back in after the semi-finals, the Iranian isn't so good.

Kyle Dake has a tough road ahead of him; an Iranian in the 1/8 match; Kadimagomedov in the quarter-final; Chamizo in the semi-final and Sidakov in the final.

I think Sidakov will win it all, but we will see; Kadimagomedov and Chamizo are some of the best at 74kg - who Dake is yet to face (at 74 - not 79)

Yikes, Dake has a brutal road ahead. Anywhere from bronze to gold wouldn’t surprise me.

Taylor looking back to 2018 form. I expect gold.

Gilman has a real shot a bronze.

Gable got a great draw. Calling it now he beats Akgul.

What an abysmal draw for Dake. Hoping he grinds it out, but sheesh.

Taylor looking amazing.

Myles Amine with Bronze and David Taylor with a 4-3 win over Yazdani

Yadzani wrestled very well, but Yazdani ultimately gave up two takedowns

As expected, Kawai ran away with the gold. Nobody can really challenge her at 57kg.

Damn man. Dake waited so long for this, and while bronze is great, we all know it won't mean much to him. Wow. Still, team USA bringing home a nice haul despite only taking 5 guys in freestyle.

The upcoming world championship will be very interesting as I'm pretty sure its contesting ALL WEIGHT CLASSES. Not just the non-olympic weights.

Snyder looks like he has an outstanding shot to make it to the bronze match.
