Coronavirus not very megathread.

So on here I'm considered a vaccine shill and a covid scardy pants by some (@Nimrod ;) and I'm faced with being too cavalier with regards to my American football team.

A team we were playing the coming Sunday has pulled out because they had one player test positive for covid.

Everyone else is clapping them on the back whereas I'm here thinking next man up. They had a guy test positive on Tuesday, so if they all do lateral flow tests Sunday and test negative I don't see the problem in playing.

They. Pulled. Out. For. One. Player.

I guess they all need to self isolate for 10 days being as they were in close contact. I'm just annoyed and venting, really wanted to play them.

Self-isolation should be 100% over-ruled by a negative fucking test. If these tests are so accurate, they've been used as a basis to shut down society for 15months, on and off, they are accurate enough to free someone from self-isolation no matter who they've been in contact with.

They could even do 2, one the day before, one the morning of the game.

I deleted that fucking NHS App ages ago, no way in hell am I getting coerced into staying home for 10 days because I spent 15mins in the same reception area as some random a few days before. No chance, that game is over.

This guy was in his 80s and obese.

Not. Get your jabs, twats.

'He thought he was immortal': Twin sister's heartbreak as body-building brother, 42, who rejected jab because he 'didn't want vaccine in his body' died four weeks after catching Covid... 'wishing he'd listened' to her
  • John Eyers, 42, of Southport, Merseyside, had been climbing Welsh mountains one month before his death
  • His twin sister Jenny says he was 'fittest, healthiest person I know' and had 'belief in his own immortality'
  • Father-of-one had thought he would only have a 'mild illness' if he got Covid-19 and didn't want a vaccine
  • But he died after suffering from infection and organ failure, telling consultant he regretted not getting jab

Another person died. Yes!

Your liberal friends on here need more of these stories. Keep feeding them these dopamine hits.

Studies show that those who lose taste and have longer effect of Covid has permanent brain tissue

I think it's worth saying there is brain damage in cases of the flu etc as well. It does seem that covid does more damage and I'm certainly not keen to get it and roll the dice myself.

But yeah, the loss of smell is the area of your brain connected to your nose dying, only rerouting the signal restores it, which is also why it gets restored different.

Covid also had a 7point IQ drop if it was severe

We are back to the winter wave hospitalized numbers, even as we have all the vaccines.

Pandemic of the Unvaccinated is real

It happens. Some people sneeze from looking at the sun. Not seeing the issue.
The neurosis is real. Basic human functions are now regarded with contempt.

Peak delusion, huge psychological effects many in society will never recover from.

Sad stuff.

Fantastic!! My stubborn brother-in-law thinks vax is conspiracy so he talked my one niece (who has it) into not getting it.
Now he actually has it but refuses to get covid tested lest he thinks he'll hear "na na na...told you you had it"
So he is in denial 100% and thinks it's just common cold although he's wiped right now.
~7 of my sister's friends had earlier this year but only 1 ended up in hospital. So the odds are on his side for sure.
I'm vaxed so I aint worried at all
My vaxed sister on 5th day feeling much better.
Niece still rough since last Thursday.
Shit is way rougher than I originally thought. I was laughing at mask wearers last year, actually still am but not laughing at vaxxers.

I feel really sorry for healthcare workers again, I thought it was all but done but looks as bad as last year again.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/...ort-nurses-offering-25-000-signing-bonus.html
Arkansas hospital where HALF of nursing positions are vacant is so overwhelmed with COVID patients that it's offering $25,000 signing bonus for medics willing to take jobs
  • University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is offering up to $25,000 in signing bonuses for new staff amid a surge in COVID-19
  • Earlier this week, the state reported only having 25 open hospital beds across Arkansas
  • Staff report trauma and frustration as many of the states large unvaccinated population fill hospital beds
  • Cases in Arkansas increased ten-fold in mid-July, one of the worst Covid situations in the country
  • Gov Asa Hutchinson expressed regrets earlier this week over a law he signed banning mask mandates in the state

Damn. I know we have folks completely dismissing this data, and there ARE limitations, but these are striking numbers and seem to be picking up on MAJOR safety signals (exactly what this system was made for). These numbers seem too high to ignore... the fallout is going to be crazy!

Gonna be fun times, but it's only the beginning.
I heard those vaccines keep you out of the hospital. Well, not anymore they don't.

Just think of all those lives you saved.. what a guy..

Fauci was just talking about this.

The effects of the vaccine is fading because Israel starting vaccinating people 2-3 months before we did.

Evidence of need for booster shots.

Wouldn't it make sense that it would drop if the vaccines were effective? People are quoting the same 99% survival rate if you a re vaccinated vs not. the only difference is .6 or .8...
If the vaccines were extremely effective we would be seeing massive drops in all states. Pre infection seems to actually result in immunity of the same levels as the vaccine.

Vaccinated or unvaccinated this isn't going anywhere.

Its the younger unvaccinated people getting hospitalized

That seems to be the case? The deaths are staying much lower which is great. I am all for the vaccine but it isn't going to stop this continuing to be a thing.

Yeah I saw that. Seems similar in Australia where some of our hospital and spreading cases have been vaccinated.

This is just the new flu. By that I mean it will never be eradicated, will get infected occasionally and have serious effects in the vulnerable and sick. It's clearly more serious than the flu, but we will eventually adapt and future generations will be fine living with this if we stop locking them all away.

I have never had the common cold in my life so much as I have since covid became a thing. The colds I have had have been debilitating. Still no covid.

The real pandemic is the amount of overweight, obese, and unhealthy people. They're the ones to blame for this.
