Discussion Thread: The Ultimate Fighter 30th Season 2022

The Usman / Sipe fight was worse than most fights last season, super low level. I was hoping they'd inject some drama into the show and have Colby Covington appear at the PI screaming "WHERE YOU AT USMAN?!?!" :D<Lmaoo> Hopefully there's a bit more drama injected into the show soon because Pena / Nunes aren't bringing anything to the table entertainment wise so far.
Haha. ‘Where you at Snooze Man?!’
Julianna’s been professional, focusing on the team. Nunes too.
In past seasons some coaches have been cool. Ortiz, GSP, Gadelha, Volkanovski come to mind. Others not so much like Shamrock, Hughes, Rousey.
By the way I like how Forrest Griffin is enjoying every minute.
There’s some drama foreshadowed on the teaser for next week’s show. Chantel Coates has to cut an insane amount of weight. Like 24 pounds! Brogan suffers a knee injury in training. Ouch! Brutal! What happens if neither can fight?
Stay tuned for another episode of As the Octagon Turns.

This was a strange one. I normally like when fighters talk in the cage, as part of their game. but it seemed sipe wanted to talk and clown more than fight. He wasn't busy enough at all. Usman showed a lot of discipline not engaging in the trash talk and antics. But thought as the fight went on and sipe wasn't active, Usman should have pressured more. Wheres the takedown attempts, clinch, leg kicks, anything. he said he was the rounded fighter he sure didn't show it. And why did sipe stop his leg kicks, those first few in the third looked great. Thought it was the right decision.

Too much dead baby talk. And wasn't there a lot of dead dad stuff too with the last girl? Not impressed with the house stuff yet
Agree on all counts.
Yeah it’s like TUF: Night of the Living Dead.

Nunes is alright, she is just not very engaging and the broken English doesn't help. Pena seems cool didn't know a whole lot about her before, but i will definitely be a bigger fan of hers now.
I think that girl has to lose 28 pounds in next weeks episode and the other one has the injury so it could be a really crap show without a fight

You know they're going to spend 45 minutes building up the fight only to have it not happen. No way Coates makes weight.

Those "White Boy" tats on his forearms, ugh.

Racial identitarianism in general is pretty cringe.
That being said... Plenty of fighters, even champs of other ethnicities with racial identitarian tattoos that we embrace. I wish people were more aware or consistent.

Was hoping Sipe took the W just for banter reasons but what a poor fight overall. Usman just stood there rarely pulling the trigger.

Terrible show. Struggling to find any "contestant" likeable. Time to put a nail in the TUF coffin imo.

It was time a few seasons before the "final" one years ago. Its literally not needed anymore. It's tired.

The one with volk and ortega was pretty decent. This one so far the fighters have just not been very good.
As for Sipe's tatoos he is part native american so not sure if that explains anything or not. There is a girl at my work who is 18 pretty attractive she seems pretty sweet and innocent, but got butterflies tatooed from like her shoulder up the side of her neck to by her ear. They are not bad looking, but I'm just like why? Just doesn't seem to fit

There's just too much talent elsewhere in other organisations for them to expect people to watch these fucking bums on a "reality show". It's so low level, I'd rather watch reruns of the Bellator prelims.

As for tats, brown pride, white pride, butterflies, tribal, whatever they are, all equally as garbage.

Don’t know if this is deliberately set this way, or just a coincidence… but in the first three episodes, the first fighter who has their background story featured is the one who wins the fight. Could be something, could be nothing.

My thoughts about the season so far.. Definitely a huge drop off from 29, which I enjoyed and feel there are fighters who are going to have staying power (we’re seeing it so far with Petroski). I also think there’s more long term talent on the men’s side than there was on 28. That said, the fights have been eh. The Sipe- Usman fight was alright I guess, but the third was garbage. I think the trash talk was better than the fight itself. Had hopes for Sipe coming in. Speaking of Usman, maybe we can get reminded a dozen more times per episode that he’s Kamaru’s brother. I don’t think we figured it out yet.

Another dogshit fight, the scouting for this show has been horrible.

I know with heavyweights, most of the elite prospects have already been signed to the UFC or Bellator already. There’s a few diamonds in the rough this season, but what baffles me is they threw two of them out there against one another in episode 1. I think Heiderman and Perez have some promise, and I thought Sipe did too, but beyond that, who knows? It really seems like they’re building the whole show around Usman’s brother, and if he winds up winning it, it’s not a good sign.

The women, there’s some with promise.

They 100% want Usman to win it hence the focus on him. He won't though. Sipe is shit. Granted, most others are too but based upon what I've heard so far Pauga wins the show unimpressivly unless Heiderman or Perez turn out to be a pleasant surprise.

Those "White Boy" tats on his forearms, ugh.
I knew a guy who had WHITEBOY tattooed on his knuckles. WHIT on one hand and EBOY on the other.

He was exactly as cool as he sounds.

All Sipe had to do was keep firing those leg kicks in round 3. Although after the way he was carrying himself, I'm almost glad he didn't. Echoing what many have already said it's definitely been pretty underwhelming to this point.
