Doesn’t answer the question, does it?
dont go by my word, cause i would pay 100 millions for him if it was up to me.
Yes, Barça are financially fucked. And no, i dont understand why City didnt signed him, as he would be much better than Phillips, imo.
Just dont expect him to perform any miracles by himself, but if you indeed sign him, enjoy simple and brilliant gootball while you can.

What I don’t get is, if he really is as good as some suggest, why are Barca so desperate to get rid (sure they need money, but come on), and why is no one else linked with him?
The few times I’ve seen him, he’s looked fantastic—the kind of player United need. He was dropping deep looking for the ball from the full backs and was spot on with his froward passing. He probably won’t stat pad with goals or assists but will be involved in moving the play forward and opening up the players who will.

I don’t comment on Barca, but I’d guess there’s politics involved there, possibly favoritism toward their youth/Spanish players. They may not be looking to move on from Busquets and feel they’re more in need of a player to get the goals and assists?

@Da Speeit @El Che

my boy !!! Inteligent, hard worker and humble. Cant beat that .
PAY whatever, the only ones who stand to lose are the ones letting him go.

This is picking up a bit of steam, probably for clicks. I’d hate to see him at Chelsea, but couldn’t blame him for leaving this clown show.

While it wouldn’t be a terrible move for United if they’re planning on an elite striker (which I’m not sure whom and seriously doubt it); the optics of offloading your best offensive player before bringing anyone else in may set off riots. It certainly wouldn’t be good for negotiations, either.

Backheel merchant. We're gonna do the double on Man U. Save this post

That’s the odd thing. I’m in the same boat.

But how often does a genuinely world class, 25 year old, player become available, especially from a mega club like Barca? Seems we’ll probably get him for around 70m, so not that bad by todays standards.

Just odd there’s not a queue waiting to bid. Like imagine if say Vinny jr or Phil Foden were made available for 70m? Or maybe the money bubble has finally burst?

Had the same confusion over Sancho last season, too.

Straight swap for Werner looms!

Finances are likely a big issue in the Frenkie case.

I know you and others hate this litmus test—and that Southgate is a blithering idiot—but Sancho couldn’t get into the England starting 11. For me, that was concerning. A player being touted as a £100M talent should be the kind of player that any team would want to build around, not someone who arguably isn’t good enough for an above average European side. Not that he couldn’t be a great player, but it gave me the feeling he isn’t this generational talent he was being made to be. I still hope I’m wrong.

True. Bit different when your 20 as opposed to 25, as your paying as much for potential, but yeah, Sancho hasn’t come close to making himself undroppable.

The idea that teams would consider spending £90M* on potential is mind-boggling. A £70M+ player should be undroppable in any team not owned by an entire country.**

*I believe that was what was being quoted the year before when United walked away before getting him at a Nicolas Pepe “discount” the following year.
