Alex Perieira vs Jamalah Hill

I could see arguments for either. Haven't seen Pereira compete at 205 in MMA, but does that matter in what will be primarily a striking match at range when he competed successfully at LHW while with Glory? I'm not sure.

Hill has the power to hurt him and Bruno Silva was giving Alex serious game in the striking exchanges. Conversely, Jamahal has shown that calf kicks can trouble him and his performance against a shot ex-MW in Santos even in the striking exchanges wasn't as dominant as many would have hoped or expected. He was throwing himself off-balance with his shots, winging wild overhands while hitting air and getting cracked with nasty counter-punches on multiple occasions (though his chin held up) in addition to the low kicks he was eating.

Were it to hypothetically happen tomorrow I might favor Jamahal just based on being the naturally bigger man with a better resume at this juncture, but I'd expect it to be plenty competitive and I wouldn't be remotely surprised to see Alex out-point him or sleep him.

Hill takes that nasty left hook of Alex's on the chin when trying to close the distance and goes down. Pereira will see everything from a mile away.

Possibly the worst matchup for Jamahal in the UFC.

Hill leaves himself open to the counter left. He would go down hard

Terrible style matchup for Hill. His style is almost 100% boxing-centric, but Poatan is a much more technical striker and has dynamite in his hands. People might be swayed by the idea that Hill is naturally larger, but his style is to strike from distance--and against Poatan, he wouldn't have a length advantage.

Hill would obviously have a puncher's chance, but I'd expect him to get slept within 3 rounds. As Strickland found out, standing in boxing range against Poatan is a bad idea.

the UFC doesnt want that because, lets be real for one second, Alex is not far away from getting his first loss and with that they could forget the "rematch" with him and Adesanya.

Lets do it, lets give the fans what they want and have the "long awaited rematch", after Izzy beats him quite easily we can start to have all kinds of funny matchups for Prereira.
