I liked 2 a lot more. Easily my favorite one. 3 I liked but I also hate westerners so I didn’t like the setting.

I can respect this. 3 had the best one liners for me....

Where'd you learn to shoot like that... 7/11.

What's your name dude?
Clint Eastwood....
What kind of stupid name is that.

The bets on the duel... one guy "I got 20 gold on you... don't let me down." Next guy, "I got 30 against you, don't let me down"

The third film isnt bad but just a bit more of a lower effort generic sequel for me compared to the second which was definitely one of the more daring Hollywood blockbuster sequels. I would say as well it doesnt reallty feel like Zemeckis had the interest in westerns he did in the 50's setting, it felt a bit more generic and characterless.

That said I think its underrated how well put together the original film is as well, the way it juggles the plots of getting Marty back to 1985 AND the story of his parents is done so well, does also already I think have a bit of the weight of the sequel in it as well.

Top 3, especially considering when it was made.

The trilogy has got to be number 1 or 2 as well.

Top 100..

Different culture, hard to judge..

It is one of my favorite movies. I tend to enjoy comedies. Hard for me to think of a ranking but if the movie is on, even though I've seen it a number of times before, I don't mind watching it again.

I am a bit surprised in todays cancel culture world that some haven't taken offense to the movie. The mother in the films looks to make out with her son - of course not knowing it is her son.

One of my favourite movies ever its a classic. Brilliant well thought out storyline (pretty much everything that happens throughout is significant and relevant to something later on in the story. Eg the lady asking for money to save the clock tower which was struck by lightning. Which later means Marty can tell the Doc how to use it to generate the power for 1.21 gigawatts. Or his band failing the audition to play at the school prom but he ends up playing on stage later at the same school. Etc etc. MJ Fox is perfect as Marty as is Christopher Lloyd ofc as the Doc. I give it a 10/10.
I hated part 2 which I thought was a mess. Thought 3 was OK.
BTTF is one movie I wouldn't mind seeing a remake of. Maybe this time someone goes back to 1985? Ofc it would probably end up being ruined but I would be interested to see it.
Aaah the 80's, they just don't seem to make fun movies like this anymore.

Seems that if anything it was ahead of the curve on that lol.

I tend to think really Back to the Future whilst yes its comic doesnt really fit in with the standard 80's comedy scene which has dated more, stuff like Police Academy or Revenge of the Nerds which really were more the equivalent of something like American Pie in their day. Like a lot of blockbusters from that era I think it is actually relatively smart politically, it plays up the idea that the idealised conservative 50's small town world was not really like that, teenegers were smoking, drinking and luisting after each other same as they do(or did) in the 80's plus scumbag would be rapists like Biff existed then as now.

The ironic thing is I think as Zemeckis got more "serious" in the 90's he actually got more conservative, Back to the Future 2 the central plot is Biff as a big business monster created by Marty's own greed were as by the time of Forrest Gump he's lionising the apolitical southern everyman and showing 60's/70's counter culture as negative.

There is one giant plot hole (even though I love BTTF)
Biff practically tries to rape Martys Mother - yet in the future they are happy to have him at their property cleaning their cars!?

I think the sequel goes against it a bit by having old Biff back as an asshole but in the original I think we get the impression that Biff has actually changed a lot, not just that George has put him in his place but that he has genuinely become nicer, still maybe trying to get away with less work waxing the car but he seems genuinely excited and happy about Georges book.

True, that said he did nearly assault/ rape his wife. No matter how much someone changed I can't imagine most people being that forgiving. Anyway I feel like I am nitpicking as I already said its still a brilliant movie.

Back to the Future trilogy is the second best trilogy of all time. After the three ninjas trilogy, of course.

Top 25 to leave some room for other films in different genres.

Unpopular opinion - They're great films, but I've never had the urge to rewatch them over the years.

They're not my kind of movies.

You're looking at it from the era of "#MeToo" where the wrong look is tantamount to rape.
