Sherdogger Amateur Boxing Match

then what is it?
They should had used boxing ring.;)
Then such fight might be ranked and recorded as am boxing fight ....

Otherwise yeah it is am boxing fight.

We had exp with some small hall type proms when they had some fights with Kickboxers using mma glowes and rules ( on paper ) and these were technically classified as mma fights.
Despite stuff guys did in cage was kickboxing...

So there's some organisators mistake because they didn't had used boxing ring...

Anyway props, I was surprised that someone 42 y.o might fight without $.... paid for fight...

He isn't bad btw.

Btw I might imagine one reason why ring wasn't used ....
Some countries doesn't issue am boxing license IF you didn't had am boxing fights under belt and will apply for am license when you are older than 35 or 40...

While in some countries it is still possible to get pro license ;) ....
Even if you are 40+ and didn't had am boxing fights under belt....
In some countries you need to have am boxing fights under belt in order to get pro license...in some no....

I should have another amateur fight or two, they were 8-12 years ago for me and I'm 29 now. This is actually pretty inspiring. Proud of your brother too, sick KO.
29?
If medical check up is good you will get license again and might go....
Ofc unless job etc duties must be in first place. Life is life.

amatuer fight isn't the right term for this

Good fight regardless

For debut in am boxing it is good even if he was not 42 but 17 or 22 y.o ....;)

Only one super big thing is that they should had used boxing ring.;)
amateur fights can happen in cages. You don’t need a ring to call it a fight.

While if you want official record :)recognised by am or pro boxing org you need fight happened in boxing ring, judged by approved bla bla bla etc etc ect bla bla bla....

His am debut was better than my stuff.... Considerably better and I was young and in good shape...while I was more KBer than boxer and due to job I later had deep interest about standup grappling stuff...

He was more impressive than I was in am debut.
I had win cos lad wasn't able to do next round...while before this he managed ref to gave me count....
He wasn't able to start next round....even after ref 5 times in row asked him is he ready to continue or no. Guy never was down in this fight and still....
I had some wins and loss in am boxing. All wins via TKO or on cards and all lost am boxing fights on cards ..... except was one guy when I refused to do next round. While I didn't managed to land pro boxing fight....

Anyway props, I was surprised that someone 42 y.o might fight without $.... paid for fight...

Yeah it was just for fun. He trains still and does bjj tournaments still. He fought mma 2x but that was 16yrs ago now. I thought he did pretty well.

Yikes! What a knockout! I'm making my amateur (Masters) boxing debut at 45 in 2 weeks. Hope I'm more like your bro and less like the other guy. ;)

No they can't amatuer fights is a specific event usually held by the iba which this is not. Not official amatuer fight will ever be in the cage

Definitely just not a amatuer fight
So then it’s a professional fight? Because those are literally the only two options.

the word you’re looking for is, “boxing match.” You could argue this wasn’t a boxing match bc it didn’t take place in a ring, but that shit is still a fight,

I feel bad for the other guy now. Imagine your first smoker was with someone who's been training for 20 years? Yikes.

Those aren't the only two options. The term people would use to refer to your brother's fight varies by place, but it'd be called something like unlicensed, smoker, white collar etc, sometimes people charitably refer to it as semi pro here if you're getting paid at all, including via ticket sales.
